Mikolas (13-4) was tagged with the loss Wednesday, allowing two runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out five over five inning against the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
All the damage came in the fifth inning when Mikolas allowed four hits and both runs, and the St. Louis bats were unable to provide any run support to bail him out of his first loss since June. The 30-year-old has given up 20 hits over 9.2 innings in his last two starts, but he still sports strong ratios on the season with a 2.96 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. He'll look to bounce back Monday in Washington.

Mikolas allowed five runs (four earned) on 12 hits in 4.2 innings Friday against the Rockies, recording three strikeouts and no walks in a no-decision.
EDGE Analysis
Mikolas gave up a season high in hits and needed 87 pitches (57 strikes) to get through 4.2 innings. Despite the lukewarm outing Mikolas still has an excellent 2.94 ERA to go along with a 1.09 WHIP. The 30-year-old has gone 10 straight starts without taking a loss and is tied for fourth in the NL in wins. His next start will be at home against the Pirates.

Mikolas (13-3) allowed one run over six innings in a win over the Brewers on Saturday. He allowed five hits while striking out seven and walking none.
EDGE Analysis
A Travis Shaw homer in the second inning accounted for all of the damage against Mikolas, who moved into a tie for third in the National League in wins with this victory. He's been more than just good for fantasy owners; the 29-year-old has been a top-15 starting pitcher to date despite a bottom-15 strikeout percentage among qualified starters. Mikolas heads out to Colorado for his next scheduled start.

Mikolas allowed four runs on four hits and one walk across seven innings Monday in a no-decision against the Nationals. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Mikolas allowed an RBI double to Ryan Zimmerman and a solo home run to Bryce Harper, but he entered the seventh inning with a quality start under his belt. Unfortunately, a two-run homer from Juan Soto tarnished that feat while putting Mikolas on the hook for a loss, before his team came back to win late. The right-hander hadn't allowed more than three earned runs since June 18th and had allowed just one home run over that stretch. He's been quite steady this season and should bounce back this weekend against the Brewers.

Mikolas (12-3) tossed seven innings of two-run ball Tuesday to earn the win over the Marlins, allowing five hits with no walks and one strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Mikolas limited baserunners to great effect, but singular runs against him in the first and fifth innings had him on the hook for a loss entering the latter stages. Luckily, Cardinals home runs in the seventh and eighth innings put him in position to pick up a win as the bullpen closed things out. He needed just 81 pitches to work through seven frames, throwing 73 percent for strikes, though the did tie his season low in punchouts. Nevertheless, Mikolas owns an excellent 2.74 ERA with a 1.07 WHIP heading into his next scheduled start against the Nationals.

Mikolas tossed seven innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out six Thursday as he didn't factor into the decision against the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Mikolas tossed a solid outing, allowing just one earned run in the fourth. He'd exit the ballgame with a one-run deficit, although the Cardinals would rally in the ninth to get the victory. Mikolas looked sharp throughout the month of July, making five starts and surrendering 11 runs over 27 innings while recording 19 punchouts. He'll head into his next start with a 2.75 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with a 97:25 K:BB through 137.1 frames.

Mikolas (11-3) gave up two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out two in six innings Saturday against the Cubs. He recorded the win.
EDGE Analysis
He only threw 90 pitches (65 strikes), but with the Cardinals up by six runs, they opted to use the opportunity to allow rookie reliever Dakota Hudson to make his big-league debut. Mikolas has now allowed three or fewer runs in seven straight starts, although he has failed to strike out more than six batters in any of those outings. His next start will come Thursday at home against the Rockies.

EDGE Analysis
In his first start since the All-Star break, Mikolas held the Cubs scoreless through three innings before allowing a pair of runs in the fourth. He threw just 74 pitches and left the game with a 2-2 tie before the Cardinals' bullpen was rocked for five runs. The 29-year-old righty still owns a strong 2.82 ERA and 10-3 record alongside a 89:22 K:BB. He'll take on the Cubs again Saturday, this time in St. Louis.

Mikolas was reinstated from the paternity list prior to his start against the Cubs during Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Luke Weaver will take the hill for Game 1 of the doubleheader while Mikolas is set to face off against Mike Montgomery in the second contest. Through 19 starts this year, Mikolas is sporting a 2.79 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with a 6.3 K/9.

Mikolas (personal) will remain on the paternity list through Friday and return to make a start in of Saturday's doubleheader games against the Cubs, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This was expected to be the plan, and Langosch's report confirms it. The right-hander will look to start building on a stellar first half in which he compiled a 10-3 record, 2.79 ERA and 1.05 WHIP across 119.1 innings.
