The Reds don't plan to limit Mike Leake's innings this season.
Leake suffered from fatigue towards the end of last season, but manager Dusty Baker sees no warning signs this time around. "Last year, he didn't know what to expect coming out of college," Baker said. "He actually looks like he's getting stronger. He's training. He knows how to train and prepare between starts. I call him the Running Man. Every time I see him he's running." Leake threw 138 1/3 innings last year and is at 132 2/3 coming into Sunday's start, so it's not as if his innings hike this season will be terribly dramatic, anyway.

Mike Leake allowed just one earned run over 6 1/3 innings Saturday in a 7-2 win over the Giants.
Leake yielded eight hits, but he didn't walk a batter and operated well in damage control. He also fanned seven batters. The young right-hander has been on a roll since arriving back in the majors in June and belongs on mixed league fantasy rosters.

Mike Leake allowed two runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings of Cincinnati's loss to the Mets on Monday.
He walked two and struck out three. The right-hander has been one of the Reds' better starters since being recalled in early June and turned in another solid start Monday. He now owns a 4.04 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. He gets the Giants this weekend.

Mike Leake allowed just four hits in six scoreless innings of work on Monday evening, improving to 7-4 in Cincinnati's 5-0 win in Tampa Bay.
Leake struck out three while walking two, and displayed masterful control all night, rarely forcing catcher Ramon Hernandez to move his glove. Leake has been excellent since being reinserted into the Reds rotation on May 27, going 4-2 with a 2.49 ERA in 47 innings over seven outings.

Mike Leake gave up four runs in six innings Wednesday in a loss to the Yankees.
Leake had a really odd third inning in which he seemed all out of sorts in giving up three hits and two runs. He was pretty good the rest of the way, though, even if he did give up a two-run homer to Jorge Posada in the sixth. He's expected to stick in the rotation with Travis Wood having gotten sent down.
