With the Mariners trailing 1-0 in the eighth inning on Wednesday, Mike Carp tagged Scott Downs for a two-RBI double, propelling Seattle to a 2-1 win at home. After entering Monday in a 3-for-27 slump, Carp has gone 5-for-12 with four extra-base hits and five RBI. He'll finish August with a sterling .313/6/25 triple-crown slash. It's likely he'll remain streaky in September, but he shouldn't be unowned in mixed leagues right now.

Mike Carp is 3-for-27 with 12 strikeouts since August 22. Carp was given an off day Sunday to rest his head. The young first baseman had been on a tear at the plate before this recent rough patch and should remain relevant in mixed fantasy leagues down the stretch.

Mike Carp hit a pair of solo home runs on Monday, helping the Mariners squeeze by the Blue Jays 6-5 at home. The home runs were Carp's fifth and sixth since rejoining the Mariners on July 19. He's hitting .371 with 17 RBI in that timespan, and hasn't shown any signs of cooling off. There's no reason for him not to be in your mixed-league lineup for the time being.

Mike Carp had three hits and knocked in three of the Mariners' four runs Friday against the Red Sox. Carp may not be a true cleanup hitter, but he's been a huge improvement over what the Mariners had gotten from their No. 4 hitters since moving there. He's batting .388 with two homers and 13 RBI in 12 games from the spot.

Mike Carp went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored on Wednesday, helping the Mariners to a 4-3 win over the Rangers in Texas. The bomb was Carp's fourth in 20 games since rejoining the Mariners on July 19, while he's now batting .358 with 18 RBI in that timespan. Take a flier in your deeper mixed league if you haven't already.

Mike Carp finished 4-for-5 with a triple and four RBI against the Yankees on Wednesday. Carp's three-run triple really should have been caught by Curtis Granderson, but it was another well-hit ball for the 25-year-old. Carp isn't distinguishing himself (at least not in a good way) with his play in left field, but the Mariners are going to have to keep his bat in the lineup going forward, even if it's at DH.

Mike Carp homered in a second consecutive game Saturday but the Mariners fell to the Red Sox. Carp smacked a three-run homer off Red Sox reliever Franklin Morales on Friday night and took Josh Beckett deep on Saturday. The promising young outfielder was promoted from Triple-A Tacoma in mid-July and should continue seeing more playing time. Seattle, however, has now lost 14 straight games.

Mike Carp belted a three-run homer off Boston reliever Franklin Morales in Friday's loss to the Red Sox. It's his first longball of the season. Carp has now started three of the last four games and could be in line for more playing time after tonight's blast. He's worth adding in deeper AL-only formats.

Mariners optioned INF-OF Mike Carp to Triple-A Tacoma. Carp was given a shot by the Mariners after tearing it up at Tacoma, but he managed just a .200 average and no homers over 35 at-bats. He'll return to a 350/.410/.664 batting line at Triple-A.

Mike Carp smacked a single and double Tuesday in the Mariners' 3-1 loss to the Braves. The young outfielder is getting his third major league look in three years, but has very little to show for it thus far. His 2-for-3 performance Tuesday ended a 5-for-28 slump, and included his first extra-base hit since his first game of the season. After 31 at-bats, he still does not have a run or RBI.
