Miek Carp went hitless Thursday and is 5-for-28 since his callup June 7. Carp has walked five times, but he's also struck out 11 times and he's yet to drive in a run. That he's off to such a cold start would seem to bode well for Jack Cust's chances of sticking around. The Mariners could give Cust one more crack at the DH job when they return to AL parks next week.
