Adolfo was outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo was designated for assignment on Opening Day, though he went unclaimed on waivers. He'll stick with the organization and head to Triple-A Charlotte, where he hit .240/.301/.513 across 163 plate appearances in 2021.

Adolfo was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Thursday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo is a fairly interesting prospect, but his strikeout issues may have convinced the White Sox he wasn't worth keeping around. In 101 games split across the two highest minor-league levels last season, he whiffed 34.1 percent of the time, so it's likely he'd strike out at an untenable rate against big-league pitching. He's a decent candidate to be claimed off waivers, however, as he managed a .245/.311/.520 slash line (good for a 121 wRC+) despite all those strikeouts.

The White Sox promoted Adolfo from Double-A Birmingham to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo will reach Triple-A for the first time after he posted a solid .843 OPS in 242 plate appearances for Birmingham. The 24-year-old still has a high amount of swing and miss in his game (35.1 percent strikeout rate at Double-A), which may hurt his chances of finding success against advanced pitching at Triple-A and the majors.

The White Sox added Adolfo to their player pool Tuesday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo was an intriguing prospect who showed power potential in 2017 prior to a couple of injuries that limited him to 82 games since the start of the 2018 season. After overcoming Tommy John elbow surgery in 2018, he had a second surgery on the same elbow that capped his 2019 season at 13 games.

The White Sox optioned Adolfo to Double-A Birmingham, Lamond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo bubbled up in the organization, showing a power stroke in 2017 and 2018, before his career got derailed by a barking right elbow. He underwent Tommy John surgery during the second half in 2018, then was shut down for arthroscopic surgery on the same elbow in May of 2019. He needs to make up for lost development time, and the organization is in no rush to get him to the majors with players like Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert just beginning what are expected to be lengthy careers on the South Side.

Adolfo (elbow) homered in his first game of the Arizona Fall League on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
He was a late addition to the AFL roster and will attempt to make up for lost time after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2018 and arthroscopic elbow surgery in May. Adolfo has monster raw power, so if he can get on base at an acceptable clip, he could someday be a 30-homer threat in the majors. He will likely open the 2020 season at Double-A but could reach the majors next year as he is already on the 40-man roster.

Adolfo will undergo season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a tough break for Adolfo, who underwent Tommy John surgery on the same elbow in July. The 22-year-old outfielder is expected to be fully healthy by spring training next year. According to James Fegan of The Athletic, Adolfo will receive a fourth option year for the missed time.

Adolfo was placed on the injured list at Double-A Birmingham with right elbow soreness Monday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo underwent Tommy John surgery on the same elbow in July, so there's potentially more of a worry here than with most similar injuries. The outfielder was hitting just .205/.337/.295 with a 37.9 percent strikeout rate in 23 games prior to the injury.

Adolfo was optioned to Double-A Birmingham on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo got into a few major-league games this spring, going 3-for-11 at the plate. He'll earn a promotion after posting a strong .282/.369/.464 line in 79 games for High-A Winston-Salem last season.

Adolfo (elbow) is included in the White Sox lineup as the designated hitter for Saturday's Cactus League game versus the Rangers, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo underwent Tommy John surgery in July and likely won't be cleared for outfield duty this spring, but the elbow injury shouldn't hinder him at the dish. He resumed hitting in late January and has already received six at-bats during Cactus League play, recording two hits. Once spring training concludes, Adolfo will likely report to High-A Winston-Salem or Double-A Birmingham and serve as a full-time DH.
