Adolfo (elbow) will get examined Friday in hopes of gaining clearance to serve as a designated hitter in games, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo resumed hitting in late January, started throwing a few weeks ago, and has been taking live batting practice over the last five days. The 22-year-old is recovering from Tommy John surgery in July, and Friday's visit to the doctor will hopefully provide some timeline for his return.

Adolfo (elbow) played catch Wednesday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo underwent Tommy John surgery in July. He resumed hitting in January and is now able to throw, though it remains unclear when he'll be ready to play the field in a game.

Adolfo (elbow) started hitting one week ago, Scott Merkin of the MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo underwent Tommy John elbow surgery last summer to repair an injury that cropped up during spring training. He was limited to DH-only duty and improved his offensive output from 2017. He's expected to be ready at some point during spring training, but likely as a DH.

Adolfo will undergo Tommy John surgery in the coming weeks and will be out until at least next spring.
EDGE Analysis
Tommy John surgery carries a shorter timetable for position players than pitchers, and according to Scott Merkin of MLB.com, Adolfo will be out 8-to-10 months, so he could return next March, if he has the surgery soon and returns on the short side of that estimate. He is one of the White Sox's top hitting prospects, and had been dealing with this elbow issue all year, but only recently had a setback in his throwing program. He should still be rostered in most serious dynasty leagues, after all, Twins outfield prospect Alex Kirilloff underwent the procedure a couple years ago and is now one of the top prospects in the game. Adolfo, 21, hit .283/.368/.466 with 11 home runs and a 27.2 percent strikeout rate in 334 plate appearances this year for High-A Winston-Salem.

Adolfo will begin a throwing program after a positive evaluation of his elbow Monday, James Fegan of The Athletic Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo has been limited to desginated hitter duty this season while dealing with a sprained UCL and strained flexor tendon in his right elbow. He's posted strong numbers at the plate despite the injury, hitting .274/.367/.442 with seven homers in 59 games for High-A Winston-Salem.

Adolfo will undergo an MRI in the coming weeks to determine whether he can start a throwing program, James Fegan of The Athletic Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo has been shut down from throwing for two months thanks to a sprained UCL and strained flexor tendon in his right elbow. While the injury has limited the 21-year-old to DH duties, it hasn't hindered his performance at the plate, as he's slashing an impressive .301/.404/.506 with six homers across 44 games with High-A Winston-Salem.

Adolfo is scheduled to undergo a follow-up MRI in the near future as the White Sox look to assess his recovery from a sprained UCL and strained flexor tendon in his right elbow, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The injury hasn't prevented Adolfo from tearing it up at High-A Winston-Salem, where he's logged a .328 average, three home runs and 14 RBI in just 67 at-bats, but he's been limited strictly to designated-hitter duties thus far. White Sox general manager Rick Hahn has previously stated that Adolfo will continue playing so long as he feels good, but there remains a possibility that the 21-year-old will be shut down at some point to undergo Tommy John surgery, which would keep him out of action until 2019.

Adolfo went 1-for-4 with a solo homer run and a walk for High-A Winston-Salem on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Other than not playing the field, Adolfo has not been impacted by the strained ulnar collateral ligament in his right shoulder. Limited to designated hitter duty only, Adolfo's reached base safely in all 10 games, hitting .375 (15-for-40) with one homer and nine RBI. The White Sox are hoping the elbow can resolve itself without surgery, but Tommy John surgery is still a possibility.

Adolfo (elbow) went 0-for-2 as a designated hitter in a "B" game against the Padres on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo is dealing with a sprained UCL in his right (throwing) elbow and is hoping to avoid surgery. The condition kept him out for a bit, so his timing at the plate will be off until he gets more plate appearances. White Sox trainers say he can't worsen the condition as a hitter, so Adolfo's proceeding without the surgery, but that could change.

Adolfo (elbow) will be utilized as the designated hitter and bat seventh in Thursday's spring game, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adolfo's situation is still a little murky, as the 21-year-old continues to explore his options after suffering a sprained UCL in his right (throwing) elbow last week. He could still opt to undergo Tommy John surgery if the elbow doesn't show any signs of improvement, but the organization believes that he can DH at the minor-league level without risking any further damage.
