Michael Cuddyer left Wednesday's Cactus League game after taking a Jeff Samardzija pitch off his hand.
Troy Renck of the Denver Post says the "early indications were that Cuddyer did not suffer a fracture." He will be examined by the Rockies' medical staff and then the team should quickly issue a status update.

Rockies manager Walt Weiss said Thursday that he's considering hitting Michael Cuddyer second in the batting order this season.
Likely second baseman D.J. LeMahieu is also a candidate to hit there, but Weiss is intrigued by the idea of having power in the two hole. "I talked to Cuddy about it this winter, and the appealing thing about that is when you turn the lineup over there's power right away," Weiss said. The move up in the order would reduce Cuddyer's RBI chances but help out his runs total. Cuddyer hitting second would also mean Justin Morneau and Wilin Rosario moving up in the order.

Rockies owner Dick Monfort wrote in a letter to season ticket holders that Michael Cuddyer will likely move to first base next season.
Cuddyer has played plenty of first base in his career, making 37 starts at the position for the Rockies over the last two seasons. With Todd Helton retiring, Cuddyer will move to first full-time and allow the club, according to Monfort, "an opportunity to fill (right field) with a big bat." The Denver Post's Troy Renck lists Shin-Soo Choo, Carlos Beltran, Nelson Cruz and Corey Hart as potential fits in right field.

Michael Cuddyer (wrist) sat out Saturday's game but will be in the lineup on Sunday.
Cuddyer is dealing with a sore left wrist he sustained on September 18, and with little to play for Rockies manager Walt Weiss gave Cuddyer the night off on Saturday. Weiss said "there's a good chance" Cuddyer will be back in the lineup for Sunday's season finale.

Michael Cuddyer went 2-for-4 with a two-run double and a run scored in a win over the Red Sox on Tuesday.
Cuddyer has three multi-hit games over his last four, bringing his batting average up to .335 for the year. Atlanta's Chris Johnson is currently sitting at .327 with only a handful of games left in the season, so Cuddyer looks to be in good shape to win his first batting title.

Michael Cuddyer returned to the Rockies lineup on Sunday without missing a beat, going 3-for-5 with an RBI in a loss to the Diamondbacks.
While the Rockies are out of playoff contention, it should be a fun race over the final week of the regular season while Cuddyer battles Chris Johnson for the National League batting title. The veteran outfielder is hitting .334/.392/.537 with 20 homers, 82 RBI and 10 stolen bases on the season.

Michael Cuddyer (forearm) indicated that he will return to the Rockies starting lineup on Sunday.
Cuddyer received a cortisone shot in his left wrist on Friday. He also clarified that he doesn't want to sit on his average and hope to win the NL Batting Title, but wants to play and earn it. It should be a fun race down the final week against Chris Johnson, both of whom are hitting .331 currently.

Michael Cuddyer went 3-for-5 with two homers and four RBI in Tuesday's win over the Giants.
Cuddyer's first blast scored three runs, but his ninth-inning solo shot off Sergio Romo broke an 8-8 tie. He is up to 20 homers and 80 RBI in 119 games, but his triple slash numbers more accurately portray what a great season he's having. The veteran outfield ranks second in the National League in batting average (.330) and slugging percentage (.544), while his .391 on-base percentage isn't too shabby either.
