Rockies transferred OF Michael Cuddyer from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
The move clears a spot for Wilton Lopez on the 40-man roster. Cuddyer suffered a non-displaced fracture of the glenoid socket in his left shoulder earlier this month and will likely be sidelined until late July or early August.

Michael Cuddyer is expected to miss at least 6-8 weeks with a non-displaced fracture of the glenoid socket in his left shoulder.
Cuddyer suffered the injury while trying to make a diving play at third base last Thursday. It will likely keep him sidelined until late July or early August or possibly longer. "It's tough to say how long I'll be out," said Cuddyer. "It's a fracture like any other fracture, so they are telling me that it's at least six to eight weeks to heal. That's where we are." The 31-year-old is in the final year of a three-year, $31.5 million contract.

Rockies placed OF/1B Michael Cuddyer on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 6, with a left shoulder strain.
Cuddyer hasn't played since last Thursday and will now require his second DL stint of the season. With Carlos Gonzalez also sidelined, Corey Dickerson and Drew Stubbs should both be regulars in Colorado's outfield for now.

Michael Cuddyer is not in the Rockies starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.
It appears to be just a routine day of rest for the veteran outfielder. Corey Dickerson is getting the start in left field while Drew Stubbs patrols center on Saturday.

Michael Cuddyer is making his first start at third base since 2010 in Saturday's game against the Indians.
Gulp. Cuddyer played quite a bit of third base in the high minors and back in 2004-05 with the Twins, but his only appearances there in the last nine seasons came in 2010, when he started 13 games there. The Rockies have decided to give him a look at his old spot with Nolan Arenado out, but it's hard to imagine the big defensive hit they'll take will prove worth it. On the plus side, it does get Corey Dickerson's bat into the lineup, which is always a good thing.

It was his fourth home run of the season and his first since coming off the disabled list on Tuesday. The 35-year-old is batting .329/.381/.553 through 20 games this season, so he has picked up from where he left off last year.

Michael Cuddyer went 3-for-4 with an RBI before Thursday's Giants-Rockies game was suspended with the score 2-2 in the sixth inning.
The game will resume with Cuddyer on first base and two outs in the bottom of the sixth, but not until the Giants return to Coors Field in September. A decision was made to suspend the game during a second long rain delay. Both starters, Tim Hudson and Jorge De La Rosa, left after the first, which started after the third inning.

Rockies activated OF Michael Cuddyer from the 15-day disabled list.
Cuddyer missed a little over four weeks with a left hamstring strain. He was off to a tremendous start before the injury, batting .317/.373/.533 with three home runs and 10 RBI in 16 games. His return to the active roster means less playing time for Corey Dickerson.

Michael Cuddyer (hamstring) is hoping to be activated for the beginning of the series against the Giants on May 20
Cuddyer was cleared to begin playing in extended spring training games starting on Thursday after running the bases Tuesday again with no issues. He's been out since mid-April. "Hopefully, I'll be back for the Giants series [beginning May 20]," Cuddyer said. "You've got to play some games to make sure you are at game speed."
