Conforto (undisclosed) was walking gingerly after he struck out and was removed from Wednesday's spring training game, but it's unclear as to what happened, Jesse Spector of the Sporting News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old impressed in his 56 game audition for the Mets last season, hitting for a .270/.335/.506 slash line with nine home runs and 26 RBI. He's been penciled in to the starting left fielder role this season and is primed for a big year.

Conforto went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Wednesday's loss to the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately, the long ball -- his ninth of the year -- concluded the Mets' scoring with two outs in the first inning. Still, the opposite-field blast was impressive, and Conforto continues to look like a big-time hitter in the making. He's picked up extra-base knocks in each of his last four games.

Conforto is out of the lineup Sunday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Conforto's day off likely relates to southpaw CC Sabathia toeing the rubber for the Yankees. In his place, Yoenis Cespedes will shift over to cover left field, while Juan Lagares will enter the lineup in center field.

Conforto went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer against the Phillies on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The long ball went to the opposite field, providing yet another example of Conforto's excellent hitting ability. All of a sudden, the rookie's sitting on a .311 batting average, and with five homers in 90 at-bats, he's flashed a little more power than we expected to go with his fabulous plate discipline. For a note of caution, the Mets have limited Conforto's exposure to lefties -- only five at-bats -- and it'd be nice to see him get some shots against southpaws down the stretch to help evaluate his capability to be an everyday starter next year.

Conforto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets have been fairly committed to sitting Conforto against left-handed starters, as he hasn't seen a southpaw starting since July 24. He'll sit in favor of Michael Cuddyer, as the Mets' usual left fielder against lefties, Yoenis Cespedes, is also sitting Sunday.
