Taylor didn't start Saturday, but he hit for Kyle Isbel in the sixth inning. In the eighth, Taylor put the Royals ahead with a solo shot, which was his first homer since June 25. The outfielder has hit safely in seven of his 11 games in July and now owns a .268/.344/.399 slash line with six long balls, 25 RBI, 27 runs scored and a stolen base in 66 contests overall.

Taylor (shoulder) is starting Friday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Taylor dealt with a shoulder injury prior to the All-Star break and landed on the restricted list due to his vaccination status during the Royals' final series ahead of the layoff. However, the 31-year-old has apparently moved past the injury and will start in center field and bat eighth Friday.

The Royals reinstated Taylor (shoulder) from the restricted list Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Taylor was one of 10 Royals players who will rejoin the 26-man active roster after being ineligible to play during the four-game weekend series in Toronto due his vaccination status. Before he was deactivated Thursday, Taylor missed three consecutive games with a right shoulder injury. It's unclear if the time on the restricted list plus the All-Star break will provide sufficient healing time for Taylor, who could go on the 10-day injured list if he isn't available for the Royals' first game of the second half Friday against the Rays. Taylor, who has served as Kansas City's everyday center fielder this season, wrapped up the first half with a .264/.340/.385 slash line to go with five home runs, one stolen base, 26 runs and 24 RBI across 236 plate appearances.

The Royals placed Taylor (shoulder) on the restricted list Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Taylor's availability through the All-Star break was already in question after he sat out the Royals' last three games with a right shoulder injury, but he's now officially out for the team's four-game series in Toronto this weekend after he was one of 10 players placed on the restricted list due to his vaccination status. He'll be reinstated from the restricted list coming out of the All-Star break, at which point Taylor could revert to the IL if he needs more time to recover from the shoulder injury. Edward Olivares, Ryan O'Hearn and call-ups Brewer Hicklen and Nate Eaton are expected to serve as Kansas City's primary outfielders this weekend while all of Taylor, Kyle Isbel, Hunter Dozier and Whit Merrifield (toe) are on the restricted list.

Taylor (shoulder) is unable to enter Canada for the four-game series in Toronto this weekend due to his vaccination status, so he'll be placed on the restricted list Thursday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Royals have 10 players who are unvaccinated and won't be able to play against the Blue Jays as a result. Edward Olivares should see increased playing time in Taylor's absence, while the team will also call up some minor-leaguers, especially since Kyle Isbel (personal) will also be unavailable.

EDGE Analysis
It appeared that Taylor was getting a mini-break amid a slump at the plate, but it turns out his string of recent absences is injury-related. Taylor is considered day-to-day and will be available if needed.
