Gonzalez started in left field for the first time this season Saturday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
The Astros have a couple of outfielders -- Josh Reddick and Nori Aoki -- that don't hit left-handers particularly well, so there will be more outfield opportunities for the versatile Gonzalez. That Gonzalez leads Houston with a .364 batting average through six games also helps him get into the starting lineup. Depending on your league's threshold for position eligibility, the potential is there for Gonzalez to qualify as OF.

Gonzalez hit his second home run of the season in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
That was the only hit the utility man tallied all evening, but it ended up being half of the offense put together by Houston. Gonzalez has now homered in each of his starts this season, and although he isn't expected to see an everyday role, it'll be tough for manager A.J. Hinch to keep him on the bench if he continues to make the most of his opportunities. That scenario is fairly unlikely given his past results, however, so Gonzalez will likely revert to the mean and settle back in as a bench option for Houston soon.

Gonzalez homered in three at-bats in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Manager A.J. Hinch gave Gonzalez the start at first base largely due to his success against Mariners starter Hisashi Iwakuma, a decision that proved prophetic when Gonzalez's sixth-inning home run provided the winning margin. Known for his position versatility, Gonzalez was forced into a regular role last season, when he made a career-high 518 plate appearances. Barring injuries, the super-utility player won't make that many appearances in 2017.

Gonzalez is in the Astros' lineup Tuesday, batting ninth and playing first base, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The utility man holds a stellar 1.120 OPS against Seattle starter Hisashi Iwakuma in his career, so he'll get the start at first base instead of Yulieski Gurriel. Gonzalez isn't in line to get everyday playing time, but his versatility should put him in line to log at-bats in a few games per week.

Gonzalez started at shortstop Saturday after Carlos Correa was scratched due to illness.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez will be the Swiss Army knife of the Astros' lineup, having played all off the positions in the infield and outfield during his career. Indeed, position versatility is his greatest fantasy asset. Whatever offense the 28-year-old provides is tempered by poor on-base ability and a high-strikeout rate. While he had 13 homers and 12 stolen bases in 2016, Houston's offseason acquisitions mean Gonzalez will be hard pressed to repeat the 141 games played and 518 plate appearances this season. In 18 spring games, he's hitting .196 (10-for-51) and has a .490 OPS.

Gonzalez agreed to a one-year, $3.725 million deal with the Astros on Wednesday, avoiding arbitration, Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez will return to the Astros in his super-utility role, where he started games at five different positions in 2016. Despite establishing many career highs last year (plate appearances and games played), his opportunities will drop off this year due to Houston's offseason acquisitions.

Gonzalez will remain a big part of the Astros' lineup despite several offseason acquisitions designed to bolster the lineup.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez is a super-utility player that started game at five different positions for the Astros in 2016. The switch-hitter enjoyed a career season, establishing a new career-high with 518 plate appearances and 141 games played, including starting a team-leading 74 games at first base. However, those numbers should drop off in 2017. Offseason acquisitions of Carols Beltran, Josh Reddick and Norichika Aoki should reduce the need Gonzalez in the outfield, while Yulieski Gurriel is presumed to be the primary first baseman.

Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a three-run homer in a 4-2 win over Cleveland on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez single-handedly ruined Corey Kluber's night after missing nearly a week with a hamstring injury. His three-run homer in the second set the tone for the game and he added two doubles later on for good measure. Still, this light-hitting first baseman hasn't consistently delivered the power numbers (six homers, 27 RBI for the second half) needed at the position. While it's tough to overlook a performance like Tuesday's, it's hard to consider him anything beyond a waiver wire pickup in deeper leagues at this point.

Gonzalez (hamstring) is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez was held out of the lineup four days in a row due to his hamstring injury, but he was able to pinch-hit Monday, and will return to the lineup one day later. Gonzalez will man first base and hit eighth against Indians starter Corey Kluber.

Gonzalez remains out of the lineup
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez has yet to see an at-bat since he exited Wednesday's contest early with a hamstring injury. He had been getting regular playing time at first base before suffering the injury, and since then, Yuniesky Gurriel has received two of the four starts available, including Monday evening's matchup.
