Gonzalez (hand) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
It's Gonzalez's second straight absence on account of the sore right hand, but after X-rays earlier this weekend came back negative, the Astros are confident the versatile infielder won't miss much further time. In the meantime, Tyler White will continue to fill in at first base.

Gonzalez (hand) is out of the lineup for Saturday's contest with Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez exited Friday's game with hand soreness and although the injury doesn't appear to be serious, he'll likely need a game or two off to recuperate. In his place, Tyler White is starting at first and batting seventh. Gonzalez will resume a 12-game hit streak when he returns to action.

Updating an earlier report, Gonzalez exited Friday's game with right hand soreness, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Initial details regarding Gonzalez's setback were vague, but it is now clear he is dealing with a hand injury instead of a hamstring injury. While a sore hand could affect Gonzalez's swing, he should be able to return sooner than he would have had he been dealing with a hamstring injury instead.

Gonzalez was removed from Friday's game in the seventh inning with right hamstring soreness, MLB.com's Brian McTaggart reports.
EDGE Analysis
Friday's game was already well out of hand when Gonzalez was removed, so it's tough to gauge the severity of Gonzalez's setback. As is generally the case with hamstring injuries though, expect the Astros to proceed with caution.

Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a homer, two runs and two RBI Tuesday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez's ninth blast of the season gave the Astros a 1-0 lead in the first inning of the game they'd go on to lose. He's now hit safely in nine straight games, and he's slashing .257/.296/.428 on the year.

Gonzalez (ankle) will rejoin the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez's sprained ankle appears to be minor in nature, as it cost him just Monday's action. He'll slot back into his second spot in the order, playing first base once again while pushing Luis Valbuena over to third.

Gonzalez (ankle) remains out of the lineup Monday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez has been bothered by a balky ankle of late, and he'll sit out Monday after departing Sunday's game with discomfort. The Astros will go with utility man Alex Bregman at third base Monday, while Luis Valbuena takes over at first.

Gonzalez said his sprained ankle isn't serious, and that he's day-to-day, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gonzalez said the injury was bothering him a little bit after he left Sunday's game, but that he would see how he felt on Monday. If Gonzalez can't play, the Astros have plenty of options to replace him at shortstop.

Gonzalez departed Sunday's game in the fifth inning due to a sprained left ankle.
EDGE Analysis
While it appears he's avoided serious injury, sprained ankles can certainly cause missed time. Owners should check on the utility player's status come Monday when the club opens a series with the Yankees. Considering the plethora of positions he plays, the Astros still have a number of alignment options for the contest should Gonzalez sit.

Gonzalez will start at third base and bat second in the order Sunday against the White Sox. It will mark his fifth consecutive start.
EDGE Analysis
As a switch-hitter who can play just about every position except pitcher and catcher, Gonzalez should continue to see plenty of at-bats on weekly basis, even if he doesn't have a direct path to a starting role at any spot in particular. While he hasn't torn it up at the plate this season, he's a perfectly respectable cog in the Astros' lineup, producing a .253/.302/.406 slash line to go with six homers and eight steals in 229 at-bats.
