Trumbo went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, three RBI and two runs during Saturday's win over the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Trumbo is 6-for-9 with three RBI and five runs through the first two games of the series, and he's also heated up since late April with a .330/.371/.527 slash line over his past 21 games. With his early-season struggles in the rearview mirror, expect the slugger to continue providing solid fantasy results while hitting in the heart of the Baltimore lineup.

Trumbo is dealing with a bad bruise on his left ankle, Roch Kubatko of The Baltimore Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kubatko's report doesn't note how the injury occurred, but he describes Trumbo's left ankle as "multi-colored" and "grotesque." Regardless of how the bruise came about, it doesn't seem to be affecting the slugger too much. Trumbo is hitting .299 (20-for-67) with a .478 slugging percentage -- up from April's marks of .202 and .298, respectively. Unless the O's pencil him on the injury report, owners can feel confident in slotting Trumbo in lineups as usual.

Trumbo has just two extra-base hits and a .275 slugging percentage over his past 17 games.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran paced the majors in home runs last season with 47 and posted a .533 slugging percentage, so with just two bombs and a .314 mark to start 2017, Trumbo has been a major disappointment. He's gone 13-for-42 (.310 batting average) with eight runs, seven RBI and a .774 OPS over his past 10 games, which could be the beginning of a hot stretch for the streaky slugger.

Trumbo went just 19-for-94 (.202) with just two home runs and 23 strikeouts in April.
EDGE Analysis
April didn't treat Trumbo well to say the least. The slugger dealt with an 0-for-23 skid while posting his worst career homer rate for a season's opening month. Entering 2017, Trumbo owned a .284/.328/.514 slash line over 518 plate appearances in March and April. This season, he managed just .202/.245/.303, all career lows for this time of year.

Trumbo went 3-for-6 with a grand slam in Friday's 14-11 extra-inning loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
His sixth-inning blast off Bryan Mitchell, Trumbo's second homer of the season, gave the O's a 9-1 lead that they would somehow squander. It was the slugger's first multi-hit performance since April 19 and ended an 0-for-20 slide over his previous five games.

Manager Buck Showalter said he isn't worried about Trumbo's recent string of bad games, and the skipper believes his slugger will get back on track soon, Brittany Ghiroli and Ben Standig of MLB.com report.
EDGE Analysis
The reigning home run champ has gone hitless in his last 18 at-bats, dropping his average to an unsightly .203 after 19 games. "Mark is a very good student of the game, a student of hitting. I trust him," Showalter said. "He'll figure it out. I know it's frustrating for him. But, you know, he's not the only one who hasn't been at the level he's spoiled us with." For the most part, Trumbo's current peripherals look similar to his previous seasons, so it's only a matter of time before the 31-year-old's numbers level out.

Trumbo went 2-for-4 and scored a run in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Cincinnati.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately for his owners, the 31-year-old has yet to resemble anything close to the home run king that he was in 2016. Trumbo hasn't gone deep since Opening Day, and has just six RBI through 13 games. In comparison, by this time last season, he owned a .373 batting average with five homers and 11 RBI. However, he may just be blooming a bit late year. Wednesday marked Trumbo's third consecutive two-hit performance, which has bumped his batting average 70-plus points over the small stretch.

Trumbo went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and scored a run in Sunday's 11-4 win in Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
The slugger had just one extra-base hit (a home run) through his first 39 at-bats of the season, but found some power in his team's 15-hit effort on Sunday. Trumbo is slashing .205/.239/.318 through his first 11 games of the campaign. Last year at this point, the 31-year-old was hitting .386/.413/.750 with five bombs, so (albeit early in the season) he's well behind the pace of his career year in 2016.

Manager Buck Showalter said that he plans to use Trumbo across multiple defensive positions as the season progresses, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Trumbo has served as the DH in four of five contests while manning right field in his one game of defensive duty so far. However, Showalter wants to make sure that his slugger stays active in all phases of the game. "I want to keep Mark involved defensively," the manager said. "He's going to play some first base this year, he's going to play some right field, he might play some left field." Trumbo, who's currently eligible to fill right field and DH slots on fantasy rosters, will receive a nice boost to his already strong value once he gains eligibility at more positions.

Trumbo went 2-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and a walk during Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Trumbo walked and scored in the second inning before singling in each of his next two at-bats, the second of which knocked in Adam Jones. He has driven in five runs through five games this season and seems to be content to take what opposing pitchers are giving him, which could boost his batting average in the short term while eventually playing into his excellent power production.
