Trumbo's back injury will keep him out of the lineup for a second consecutive game Monday, and though the club is still listing the slugger as day-to-day, he'll undergo more extensive testing in order for the Orioles to better ascertain the extent of the setback. If it's determined that Trumbo will miss additional games, the club could be motivated to move him to the disabled list come Tuesday, when a spot on the active roster will be needed for the newly acquired Tim Beckham.

Trumbo will miss a second straight contest as he continues to deal with back tightness. He's expected to be reevaluated in Baltimore sometime Monday, after which there should be a clearer idea about his status. He'll remain day-to-day for now, while Trey Mancini continues to serve as DH and Craig Gentry draws another start in the outfield.

Trumbo was scratched from the Orioles lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers after tweaking his back while weightlifting prior to the contest, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Trumbo was initially slated to serve as the team's designated hitter Sunday, but those duties will now fall to Trey Mancini, while Craig Gentry settles into Mancini's spot in the outfield. The slugger remains day-to-day and said he's hopeful the injury won't require a trip to the disabled list, but more information about Trumbo's health should come when he's reexamined back in Baltimore prior to the homestand opener Monday against the Royals.

Trumbo went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored during Sunday's win over Houston.

EDGE Analysis

With 17 bombs, 50 RBI and 62 runs, Trumbo is providing solid counting statistics, but his .249/.311/.425 slash line is definitely underwhelming. The veteran slugger has shown more pop of late with seven homers through his past 20 games, so a second-half surge isn't out of the question.

Trumbo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Thursday's win over Texas.

EDGE Analysis

While the veteran is currently trailing well behind his 2016 marks, Trumbo is still providing solid fantasy numbers. He sports a respectable .250/.314/.422 slash line with 16 homers, 48 RBI and 60 runs, and he could narrow the gap in a hurry with a hot stretch. It's not out of the question to consider acquiring Trumbo with a buy-low pitch.

Trumbo went 2-for-3 with a homer, two walks, three runs and three RBI Friday against the Cubs.

EDGE Analysis

Trumbo smashed his 15th blast of the campaign to cap an eight-run comeback in a game the Orioles would eventually lose. The slugger has now homered five times over his last 11 games, and despite slugging just .433, he's a player fantasy owners should look forward to taking advantage of while he's on fire.

Trumbo finished up the first half of 2017 slashing .254/.316/.422 with 14 home runs, 44 RBI and 54 runs.

EDGE Analysis

On his way to the home run crown last year, Trumbo had twice as many home runs and a .923 OPS at the halfway point. Owners that expected a repeat of his career year are obviously disappointed, but certainly miscalculated the odds of 2016 duplicating itself. Trumbo is still on pace for a productive campaign that will challenge 30 home runs, 80-plus RBI and a career-high 100 runs.

Trumbo went went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer Saturday against the Twins.

EDGE Analysis

Trumbo connected on his 14th blast of the season to tack some insurance in the eighth inning of a road win. He's homered four times over his last nine games to raise his slugging percentage from .394 to .425, but he has a long way to go to earn the value fantasy owners placed on him in this year's draft.

Trumbo went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Thursday's loss to the Twins.

EDGE Analysis

He lifted his 13th home run to dead center off of Jose Berrios in the second inning to open the scoring. Trumbo now has three home runs in his last seven games after going deep just twice in his previous 25 games. While Trumbo won't get close to last year's 47-home run campaign, he does appear to be heating up heading into the second half.

Trumbo (calf) is in the lineup against the Brewers on Wednesday.

EDGE Analysis

Trumbo left Tuesday's game after fouling a ball off his leg, but will not miss any games as the Orioles look to avoid a sweep at the hands of Milwaukee. He will play right field and bat fifth for the series finale.
