Marcus Stroman struggled, allowing two runs over 3 2/3 innings in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees.
The Yankees worked the count all night against Stroman, as the 23-year-old departed with two outs in the fourth having thrown 98 pitches. His one costly mistake came in the third, when Brett Gardner smashed a two-run homer to put the Yankees ahead. Stroman's outing ends a streak of three consecutive quality starts since moving into the rotation. Overall, Stroman has a 5.14 ERA with a 23/6 K/BB ratio. He'll try to rebound in his next start against the Reds on the road.

Marcus Stroman registered a quality start but picked up a loss in Wednesday's outing versus the Twins, allowing three runs over six innings.
Stroman dug himself a hole when he served up a two-run homer to Josh Willingham in the first inning. He gave up just one run over the next five frames and struck out four with no walks, but the damage had already been enough to make him suffer his first defeat. Still, it was the third straight quality start in Stroman's first three tries. He has a tough matchup next week at Yankee Stadium.

Marcus Stroman held the Cardinals to just one run over six innings in a 3-1 victory on Friday.
Stroman allowed seven hits, issued two walks, and hit a batter, so the Cardinals had plenty of chances, but he managed to keep the damage to a minimum. The hard-throwing rookie struck out seven in the win. He has allowed just two runs in 12 innings with a 13/2 K/BB ratio over his first two major league starts and deserves an extended look in Toronto's rotation. Look for some ups and downs pitching in the AL East, but he's well worth a flier based on upside.

Marcus Stroman limited the Royals to one run over six innings and struck out six to pick up a win in his first major league start Saturday.
Stroman had his slider working today and also demonstrated pretty good command, walking none in the game. Despite the fine showing, it's still possible Stroman will be sent back to Triple-A. The Blue Jays indicated going in that Liam Hendriks would remain in the rotation and that Stroman's callup was primarily designed to give Drew Hutchison some extra rest. Still, sticking with Stroman in Hendriks' place seems like the better choice.

Blue Jays recalled RHP Marcus Stroman from Triple-A Buffalo.
Stroman will make the start on Saturday in Toronto. He was up earlier in the season as a reliever, but after two relatively middling starts in Triple-A, he has been recalled to take a spot in the rotation. If he pitches well, Stroman is likely to stick in the rotation for the rest of the season as the replacement for the struggling Dustin McGowan. If Stroman is available, he is a worthy addition in all formats.

Blue Jays optioned RHP Marcus Stroman to Triple-A Buffalo.
Rather than work out of the bullpen at the major league level, the Blue Jays want Stroman to work as a starter in the minor leagues. It remains only a matter of time before he secures a regular spot in the Jays starting rotation.

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Thursday that Marcus Stroman or Todd Redmond will likely replace Dustin McGowan in the starting rotation.
Redmond has pitched exclusively in relief this season, but he made 14 starts for the club in 2013. Stroman would obviously be the more interesting name for fantasy purposes.
