Stroman will start Game 3 of the ALCS on Monday against the Indians, Ben Nicholson-Smith of SportsNet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although he finished the regular season with a 4.37 ERA and 1.29 WHIP, Stroman was much more dialed in during Toronto's Wild Card Game against the Orioles. In said game, he allowed just two runs across six innings.

Stroman was named the starting pitcher for Tuesday's Wild Card game against the Orioles, MLB Network Radio reports.
EDGE Analysis
There was some debate about whether Stroman or Francisco Liriano would get the ball for Toronto in the winner-take-all game Tuesday, but general manager Ross Atkins decided to go with the former. Atkins alluded that the decision was partially made due to certain matchups the Blue Jays hoped to exploit, Liriano's experience coming out of the bullpen, as well as the fact that Stroman was on the team since the beginning of the season. Although his 0-5 record in September didn't show it, the 25-year-old right-hander did have a solid finish to the season, posting a 3.41 ERA and 0.7 HR/9 in the final month of the season, although his career 5.27 ERA against Baltimore doesn't instill any extra confidence. Stroman will start opposite Chris Tillman to decide who will face the Rangers in the ALDS.

Stroman (9-10) tossed seven innings, allowing four runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out three Orioles in Thursday's loss.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman's final start of the season pushed him past the 200-inning mark, making him the only Jays' starter to reach the plateau this season. He finishes the year with a 4.37 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 169 strikeouts in 204 innings. The 25-year-old's 2016 campaign fell sizably short of most projections, but in retrospect, the expectations may have been unwarranted. Stroman's talent and potential are that of a future Cy Young candidate, but he made only 24 career starts -- and just four last season after tearing his ACL in March -- before hurling 32 games this season. The right-hander did improve in the second half -- he posted a 4.89 ERA prior to the break and a 3.68 ERA after the Midsummer Classic -- and he's on the right track to a long-term success.

Stroman didn't factor into the decision Saturday versus the Yankees but turned in a stellar performance, firing seven innings of scoreless, one-hit ball, issuing three walks and striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was locked in a pitcher's duel with veteran CC Sabathia through seven frames, neutralizing the Yankees lineup to the same degree that the veteran lefty managed against the Blue Jays. Stroman has actually dropped four straight decisions but has been the victim of some hard luck, as he's now posted quality starts in three straight appearances and four out of his last five overall. He'll have one more chance for his second career double-digit win season when he takes on the Orioles next Thursday.

Stroman suffered his ninth loss of the season Sunday versus the Angels despite only allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman worked out of a couple of jams without serious damage and allowed just one extra-base hit, but the typically potent Jays offense could not pick him up versus Alex Meyer. The right-hander has now rattled off five quality starts in his last seven tries and has lowered his ERA to 4.50. Toronto will need Stroman at his best when the postseason rolls around and he will have the opportunity to build on his recent success Saturday versus the Yankees.

Stroman (9-8) threw six innings of three-run ball Tuesday, giving up four hits and four walks while striking out four and earning the loss against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman struggled with his command Tuesday, throwing just 52 of 92 pitches for strikes and walking four. The four walks are the most yielded by Stroman since June 26. All of the damage against Stroman came in the fifth, as a double and a walk set up Alexei Ramirez's three-run homer to give the Rays a lead they would never relinquish. Stroman now has a 4.55 ERA and 1.30 WHIP on the year.

Stroman (9-7) allowed two runs on seven hits, struck out eight and walked only one over five frames in a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Once again, run support was an issues, as Toronto scored under three runs for the fourth time in Stroman's last seven starts. He looked sharp, inducing 15 swing-and-misses, but a two-run third inning, which included a solo home run from Starlin Castro, was enough to propel the Yankees to a series sweep. Stroman will hope to get more run support in his next start Tuesday against the Rays.

Stroman (9-6) allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three in a losing effort Friday against Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman pitched well enough to win, recording his fifth quality start in his last six outings, but Toronto's lineup ultimately was held in check by Rays' starter Alex Cobb. While the 25-year old righty continued his solid second half to the season, it should be noted that his three strikeouts in six innings were a sharp regression from the 11.08 K/9 he recorded in August.

Stroman's next start will be moved up from Saturday to Friday against the Rays, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Stroman will take Francisco Liriano's scheduled start Friday but the team failed to announce a starter for Saturday's contest. The 25-year-old hurler will look for a better result than his last outing in which he surrendered five runs on nine hits and a walk over six innings.

Stroman didn't factor into the decision Saturday versus the Twins, giving up five earned runs on nine hits, a walk and a wild pitch over six innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was able to avoid the long ball but gave up several timely hits, particularly in the four-run fourth inning. He got into trouble early uncorking a wild pitch that plated Brian Dozier in the first, and then surrendered a run-scoring single to Miguel Sano and a pair of RBI doubles to Eduardo Escobar and Brian Dozier in the fourth. The five earned runs were the most Stroman had surrendered in a start since July 15 against the A's, but he encouragingly avoided the long ball for the second straight start. The 25-year-old will try to get back in the win column when he takes on the Rays next Saturday.
