Stroman (9-6) allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three in a losing effort Friday against Tampa Bay.

Stroman pitched well enough to win, recording his fifth quality start in his last six outings, but Toronto's lineup ultimately was held in check by Rays' starter Alex Cobb. While the 25-year old righty continued his solid second half to the season, it should be noted that his three strikeouts in six innings were a sharp regression from the 11.08 K/9 he recorded in August.
