Semien is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres. The A's have a day game following a night game during a busy part of the schedule, so Semien, Brett Lawrie and Stephen Vogt will all be held out of the lineup. All three will likely slot back in for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Semien is out of the lineup Thursday, the Bay Area News Group's John Hickey reports. Over the past couple weeks Semien's average has dropped from .290 to .277, but his production this season still compares favorably to most shortstops. Defense is Semien's biggest issue, so he will need to keep hitting in order to justify his spot in the lineup. Eric Sogard will get the start at shortstop Thursday.

Semien was 0-for-4 on Tuesday night to drop his average to .283. After a great start to the 2015 campaign, Semien has hit a bit of a rough patch, with only four hits in his last 31 at-bats. Semien has had a lot of trouble on defense as he leads the Majors in errors, but up until now he has hit easily enough to stay in the lineup. However, if his current slump were to linger too long, he could begin to lose some playing time due to those struggles on defense.

Semien is out of the lineup Friday against Tampa Bay. Semien had started every game this season other than the A's game on May 7 against the Twins. He'll be replaced at shortstop by Andy Parrino, who will bat eighth.

Semien had two more hits on Sunday to raise his average to .314, but he also committed two more errors to raise his Major League-leading total to 13. Semien has been great at the plate to start 2015, but the fielding issues are starting to become a black eye for him. He is the every day shortstop for the A's at the moment, but he will need to get the defense in line if he is going to stick there all season.

Semien went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the 4-3 loss to the White Sox on Saturday. Semien continues to rake for the A's and has raised his average to .309. It's going to be tough for Bob Melvin to pull Semien out of the lineup when Ben Zobrist returns from the DL in the next couple weeks.

Semien was 3-for-5 on Tuesday, including his sixth homer. Semien has had a great start to 2015 with six homers and six stolen bases through his first 35 games to go with his .307 average. After starting the year at the bottom of the order, Semien has been hitting second some games which can only help his counting stats. With eligibility at three infield positions, Semien has proved to be extremely valuable for fantasy owners so far.

Semien had a big day at the plate on Sunday, going 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs against Felix Hernandez of the Mariners. The 24-year-old did something that few players can boast in taking King Felix deep twice in one game, and now owns a pleasant .307 average and a .841 OPS on the season. Semien also has five home runs, six steals and 14 RBI on the year and has become a valuable fantasy asset due to his multi-category production and position flexibility.

Semien had a great game Saturday as he went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two stolen bases in the 7-2 loss to the Mariners. Semien has had a great season as he has a .293 average and contributes a little bit in every category. With his multi-position eligibility, Semien has become a must-own in nearly every format.

Semien is out of the lineup Thursday, the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser reports. He has been in the lineup for the A's almost everyday, and has produced with flying colors at the plate, so a day off was deserved. Eric Sogard gets the rare start at shortstop and Semien should be back in the lineup for the start of Oakland's weekend series.
