After a late April slump that saw his average dip to .186 at one point, Semien is now hitting .221 with a team-leading eight homers. His current long ball tally has him well on pace to surpass the 15 homers he managed over 556 at-bats in 2015. However, with only one other extra-base hit besides the gopher balls, the four-year pro is has been a bit on the feast-or-famine side to date this season.

Semien does have six homers already in 2016 which has helped fantasy owners a lot, but he is really struggling to hit for average. Semien has not had a multiple hit game since April 12th which is affecting his ability to steal bases as he only has one swipe on the year as a result. Semien's average is keeping him from moving up from the nine slot in the A's batting order, impairing his fantasy value.
