Marcus Semien is not in the White Sox starting lineup on Saturday. It's just a routine day off for Semien who has started each of the White Sox first 11 games. Leury Garcia will take his place at second base and hit second for the White Sox against Justin Masterson and the Indians.

Marcus Semien went 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in a monster game against the Rockies on Tuesday. Semien had just five hits in 32 at-bats coming into the game, but the second baseman was on base five times in the Sox' 15-run onslaught. The 23-year-old also stole his first base of the season. Semien started slow and is still hitting just .243 for the year, but he's now hit safely in his last six games. It will be interesting to see how the team handles playing time once Gordon Beckham returns from his oblique injury.

Marcus Semien went 0-for-6 and struck out twice versus the Twins on Wednesday. Semien hit second for the second straight game, but he's 0-for the season so far. He might be dropped in the order or sat down on Thursday, and if he doesn't heat up, he'll likely be optioned to Triple-A once Gordon Beckham comes off the DL. That may be the case regardless, though.

Marcus Semien went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run against the Mariners on Monday. Semien hit his first spring homer off of Blake Beavan in the second inning. He also singled, bringing his Cactus League average up to .341. Semien has performed well throughout the spring and now has a decent shot to crack the 25-man roster.

White Sox manager Robin Ventura said Saturday that Marcus Semien and Leury Garcia will get most of the looks at second base while Gordon Beckham is sidelined with an oblique injury. Micah Johnson could also see time at the position, but has virtually no chance of cracking the Opening Day roster. Semien possesses an intriguing blend of power and speed and would be worth a look in the later rounds of mixed league drafts as a middle infield option if Beckham is forced to miss any considerable amount of time.

Marcus Semien went 2-for-4 and hit his first big-league homer Monday against the Blue Jays. Semien was making his 10th start at third base and playing in his 15th game since his callup. He's also started one game at second and one at short. Ideally, he'd be able to stick at second, since he may not have the power for third. The White Sox, though, lack any great alternatives at the hot corner. They'll have to decide this winter whether to groom Semien there or to send Gordon Beckham packing to open up second base.

Marcus Semien delivered his third multi-hit performance in four games, going 2-for-3 in Sunday's loss to the Indians. Semien also attempted to put his speed on display, but was gunned down trying to steal second base. The 23-year-old is making a strong impression during his audition, hitting .346/.370/.385 with two runs scored, one RBI and a stolen base in his first 26 at-bats. If he continues to perform, he could work his way into a starting role with the White Sox in 2014 either at second or third base.

Marcus Semien went 2-for-5 with a steal and a run scored Friday against the Indians. Semien has started five games in his 12 days with the White Sox and gone 6-for-19. He could be a candidate to start at either second or third for the White Sox next year, so they should continue to get him time at both positions.
