Manager Buck Showalter said that he has no intentions of removing Machado (.205/.286/.405) from the third spot in the batting order, BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Machado has spiraled into a funk unlike any in his career. The superstar's entire slash line, his 21.9 percent strikeout rate and Machado's .220 BABIP are all significantly worse than his career averages. "It's frustrating for him. If you think it's frustrating for somebody else, triple it (for Machado)," Showalter said. "Sometimes, you can want it too much. It's a long process." The skipper made sure to point out that the third baseman, despite his enormous struggles, leads the team in RBI (25) and is tied for first with 10 home runs. Hitting third will continue giving Machado plenty of opportunities to rack up counting stats.

Machado went 2-for-4 with two doubles in Friday's 2-0 loss to the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
He hit the ball hard all night but missed his opportunity to play hero in the eighth inning, flying out to right field on a deep drive to the warning track with the bases loaded and two outs. Four of Machado's last six hits have gone for extra bases (three doubles, one homer), offering fantasy GMs some hope that his tepid .225/.312/.444 slash line is about to improve dramatically.

Machado (hand) is playing third base and batting third Monday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
It appears Machado isn't dealing with any lingering soreness after taking a pitch off his hand during Sunday's contest. X-rays early Monday morning came back clean, so Machado should be comfortably deployed in all formats. The 24-year-old, who is slashing .221/.312/.442 with 10 homers and 24 RBI this season (163 at-bats), will face Kyle Gibson and the Twins in Monday's contest.

X-rays on Machado's hand came back clean Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The X-rays were simply precautionary, as Machado was able to stay in and finish the game after being plunked on the hand by an eighth inning offering from Joe Smith. While it appears the 24-year-old dodged an extended absence, it's unclear if he'll be available for Monday's matchup against the Twins. Paul Janish would likely draw the start at third if Machado gets the day off, while more should be known about Machado's status closer to game time.

Machado (hand) will be sent in for precautionary X-rays, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
EDGE Analysis
He was struck on the hand by a Joe Smith offering in the eighth inning of Sunday's game, and though Machado was able to stay in the game, the Orioles will send him in to ensure that there isn't any additional damage. If Machado is given the day off Monday, Paul Janish would likely take over at third base. More information on Machado's status will be made available after the results of his X-rays are released.

Machado went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs during Saturday's win over Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Already up to 10 homers, 24 RBI and 22 runs, Machado is off to a strong start in the counting stat columns. However, his .225/.313/.450 slash line is well below his two-year average -- .290/.351/.518 -- entering 2017. The star third baseman should continue to show improvement in his slash line over the coming weeks, which stands to help his cross-category production even more going forward.

Machado (finger) is back in the lineup Friday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Machado considered himself a healthy enough to appear in Thursday's contest despite the fact that manager Buck Showalter held him out, so it comes as no surprise that the star third baseman is back in action. He'll assume his normal role in the three-hole sandwiched between Adam Jones and Chris Davis.

Machado (finger) thinks he'll be in the lineup Friday after missing Thursday's contest due to injury, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to Machado, he could've played through the ailment Thursday but was "benched" by manager Buck Showalter. All signs are pointing toward the stud third baseman returning to play Friday, but nothing is set in stone until the lineup is officially released.

Machado is not in the Orioles' lineup Thursday due to a sore right index finger, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Orioles released their lineup late to check on the status of some injured players, per Kubatko, presumably including their star. Machado is likely day-to-day, but we'll keep tabs on future reports. For now, Ryan Flaherty subs at third base and bats seventh.

Machado went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a walk in Saturday's 6-5 victory over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Machado's eighth blast of the campaign gave the Orioles a four-run lead in the fourth inning of a winning effort. Despite getting off to a slow start with a .234 batting average, he's still an elite fantasy option, and owners can expect the batting average to improve as the season progresses.
