Weaver (2-1) allowed just three hits and a walk across seven scoreless innings to earn the win against the Padres on Wednesday. He struck out 10 batters.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver has improved with every start this season, and he now owns an impressive 2.95 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB across three starts for the big club (18.1 innings). The 10 strikeouts for Weaver matched a career-high. He's filling in for the injured Adam Wainwright (elbow), who isn't expected to resume a throwing program for at least another week, according to Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com, so Weaver should see his turn in the rotation come around multiple more times while Wainwright remains on the shelf. If Weaver continues to pitch the way he has been, it shouldn't be too hard for St. Louis to find room in its rotation for him. His next start is tentatively lined up against the Brewers on Tuesday.

Weaver will take Adam Wainwright's place in the rotation while he is recovering from an elbow injury, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver has made two starts with the big-league club already this year, giving up a combined six runs on 10 hits and four walks while striking out 13 over 11.1 innings against the Brewers and Diamondbacks a few weeks ago. He figures to take the mound for Wednesday's game against the Padres, and could make a couple starts depending on the timetable for Wainwright's injury. On the year, Weaver has appeared in five games for the Redbirds, posting a 3.31 ERA and 1.29 WHIP.

Weaver was called up from Triple-A Memphis on Thursday, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver has bounced around between St. Louis and Memphis a couple times since the beginning of July, and will report back to the big-league club prior to Thursday's series opener in Pittsburgh. It remains to be seen whether Weaver will get another opportunity to start in the near future, but he could slide back into the bullpen and provide another relief arm for the Redbirds. Throughout the course of the 2017 campaign, Weaver has made two relief appearances and two starts in the majors, recording a 3.77 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 14.1 innings.

Weaver was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old held his own during two starts in the big-league rotation, but with Adam Wainwright (back) returning to the rotation over the weekend, Weaver can head back to the minors to develop further. Sam Tuivailala was recalled to fill his spot on the active roster.

Weaver (1-1) held the Brewers to two runs on five hits with two walks and eight strikeouts over 6.1 innings for his first win of the season Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 23-year-old right-hander doubled his career win total with this effort while working more than six innings for the first time. Weaver settled down nicely after a first-inning homer by Eric Thames, retiring 12 of the next 13 batters he faced. Despite the strong outing, Weaver will likely be bumped from the rotation when Adam Wainwright (back) returns from the DL.

Weaver will start Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Adam Wainwright (back) continues to progress in his rehab program, but with him still not back to 100 percent, Weaver will remain in the rotation for another turn. The young starter will face off with Milwaukee southpaw Brent Suter in Wednesday's matchup.

Weaver (0-1) allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five batters through five innings during Thursday's loss to Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
This wasn't an ideal matchup for the 24-year-old righty, and aside from allowing a grand slam, Weaver avoided trouble through five frames. He's showcased his high-end upside with Triple-A Memphis this season (1.96 ERA and 9.4 K/9 through 13 starts), and Weaver's long-term fantasy value is high. However, he's likely to return to the minors once Adam Wainwright returns from his back injury. Weaver could resurface with the Cardinals again this year, so he's worth monitoring in most settings.

Weaver was recalled prior to his start Thursday against the Diamondbacks, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver is set to make his first start of the 2017 season, taking the spot of Adam Wainwright (back) in the rotation. During two appearances with the big-league club in July, Weaver combined to toss three scoreless innings, adding in a pair of strikeouts while allowing three hits. He made eight starts with St. Louis last year, posting a 5.70 ERA and 1.60 WHIP over 36.1 innings with the team in 2016. He could end up making just one start since Wainwright's return may come as early as his next scheduled start, but the 23-year-old is a solid candidate to rejoin the Redbirds in September if he heads back to Triple-A Memphis following Thursday's outing.

Weaver said that he would be recalled from Triple-A Memphis to start Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks, Mitchell Forde of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
As was expected after Memphis scratched him from his scheduled turn Tuesday, Weaver will move up to the big club, entering the rotation in place of the injured Adam Wainwright (back). Wainwright has expressed optimism that he'll only need to miss one start due to the injury, so it's possible that Weaver's stint with the Cardinals could be short lived. That being said, Weaver seems to have little left to prove at the Triple-A level, having registered a 1.91 ERA and 69:14 K:BB over 66 innings this season.

Weaver was scratched from his scheduled Tuesday start with Triple-A Memphis, Rob Rains of StLSportsPage.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver was a late scratch from his start just around the time that Adam Wainwright (back) was placed on the 10-day disabled list. It sure seems that the young righty will step into the rotation for Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks in replacement of Wainwright. Weaver made eight starts with the big-league club in 2016, posting a 5.70 ERA (4.33 FIP) over 36.1 innings. He's been quite impressive at Triple-A this season, sporting a solid 1.91 ERA over 66 innings.
