Weaver (shoulder) allowed one hit and walked two while striking out six over 2.2 scoreless innings for Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver got up to 59 pitches before departing and will likely need another start or two before the Diamondbacks entertain reinstating him from the 60-day injured list. He has not pitched in the majors since May 16.

Weaver (shoulder) is scheduled to throw about 60 pitches in a rehab start Saturday with Triple-A Reno, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander covered three innings during an Arizona Complex League game Monday, and he'll continue building up his workload at Triple-A. Weaver has been on the shelf since mid-May with a strained rotator cuff, but he could rejoin the Diamondbacks' rotation next week if all goes well during Saturday's outing.

Weaver (shoulder) allowed one run on four hits while striking out six over three innings for the Diamondbacks' entry in the Arizona Complex League on Monday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver's fastball lived in the 93-94 mph range, which is right at his season mark. He's expected to pitch at least one more rehab game before a potential return from the injured list. The right-hander is expected to slot into the rotation after Caleb Smith was moved back to the bullpen.

Weaver (shoulder) is scheduled to pitch in an Arizona Complex League game Sunday.

Weaver (shoulder) threw a 40-pitch batting practice session Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver has thrown a couple of times this week, including 35 pitches in a bullpen session Monday. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo left open the possibility of using him out of the bullpen, which could get him back sooner, but this week's work suggests Weaver is building up his pitch count to be a starter.

Weaver (shoulder) threw a 35-pitch bullpen session Monday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver's been a forgotten man amid the Diamondbacks' troubles in 2021. Manager Torey Lovullo said the 27-year-old righty is expected to throw a live batting practice session later this week. He hasn't pitched in game action since May 16.

Weaver (shoulder) completed a 16-pitch bullpen session Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver has not pitched since May 16 due to a strained right shoulder. Manager Torey Luvullo has left open the possibility of Weaver working as as a reliever later this season, which would allow him to return from the injured list quicker because he wouldn't need to build up his pitch count.

Weaver (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Saturday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
This will be Weaver's first session off a mound since he suffered a subscapularis strain in the rotator cuff of his right shoulder. He's one of several injured starters returning to action. Madison Bumgarner returned Friday and Zac Gallen (hamstring) is scheduled to start Saturday. Prior to injuring the shoulder, Weaver had his best two outings of the season.

Weaver (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver will be shut down for at least a month after he was diagnosed with a subscapularis strain in the rotator cuff of his right shoulder Thursday. Since he'll require time to build up after his period of rest, it's not very surprising to see him placed on the 60-day IL. Left-hander Ryan Buchter's contract was selected by Arizona as part of a corresponding move.

Weaver has a subscapularis strain in the rotator cuff of his right shoulder, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Weaver will not throw for at least one month. If he begins throwing after a month, it could take another month to get ready for game action. Weaver left a start May 16 with tightness in his shoulder and has been seeking multiple opinions from doctors on his MRI results. He shouldn't be expected to return from the 10-day injured list until after the All-Star break.
