Gregerson allowed six runs on five hits and one walk over a third of an inning and rightly picked up the loss in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Gregerson, a usually reliable setup man, hadn't pitch the previous night, so there were no qualms giving him the ball. Starter Dallas Keuchel had just submitted a sterling performance, leaving the game after seven innings with a 2-1 lead, but Gregerson didn't fool anyone in what was a career-worst outing -- only once in his previous 561 regular-season relief appearances had he allowed even four runs. The right-hander gave up two home runs and the only out recorded was a sacrifice bunt. There's not much he can do but put it in the rear-view mirror and move on.

Gregerson likely won't be used out of the bullpen Wednesday after pitching in consecutive games, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gregerson has looked solid so far, striking out two while allowing three baserunners across two scoreless innings. The 32-year-old will simply get the day off (along with closer Ken Giles) after pitching two consecutive days, opening up the door for Will Harris in the ninth inning should an opportunity arise.

Gregerson worked a scoreless eighth inning, allowing a hit and a walk, to set up closer Ken Giles in Monday's 3-0 win over the Mariners on Opening Day.
EDGE Analysis
When we last saw Gregerson, he was closing out games for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic, but he has returned to a setup role for the Astros. The right-hander converted 46 of 57 save opportunities (81 percent) the last two seasons and is manager A.J. Hinch's obvious first choice to fill in at closer should Giles become unavailable.

Gregerson worked a perfect ninth inning to pick up his second save for Team USA in Saturday's win over Team Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic.
EDGE Analysis
Gregerson has been closing games in the WBC, but will go back to being a setup guy for Ken Giles when he returns to Houston. However, as someone that's saved 46 games over the last two seasons, Gregerson is someone manager A.J. Hinch can call on if the need arises.

Gregerson said he has been working on his changeup and would like to incorporate the third pitch next season, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old has primarily been a sinker-slider right-hander, although he has said he would like to add a pitch in 2017 to complement the two. He posted a 3.28 ERA across 57.2 innings in 2016, and he only featured his changeup nine times across that span. After working on the pitch all spring, he is more comfortable throwing it and is looking to implement it next season, giving hitters another pitch to think about.

Gregerson threw his first live batting practice session of spring training, Brian McTaggart of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gregerson was pleased with the movement on the ball and his location, particularly this early in training camp. Per usual, Gregerson remains a valuable bullpen arm who can spot in as a closer should Ken Giles falter or become injured, but also is comfortable in the high-leverage spots prior to the ninth inning.

Gregerson allowed an unearned run, but he still nailed down his 15th save, closing a 6-5 victory over the Athletics on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Astros manager A.J. Hinch avoided usual closer Ken Giles because he had pitched two straight days and three of the last four. Since recovering from an ankle injury in late August, Gregerson has a 2.08 ERA and 0.807 WHIP. This was his first save since July 6. Gregerson has a 2.93 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 64 strikeouts in 55.1 innings this season.

Gregerson (ankle) is expected to be available to pitch during Houston's series against Oakland, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although Gregerson is available, the team may be cautious with their 32-year-old reliever. Gregerson has been able to throw off the mound recently, but there's still some concern regarding his mobility to cover first and pick up infield hits.

Gregerson (ankle) is expected to be available out of the Houston bullpen for this week's series against Oakland, The Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gregerson has been out with an ankle injury since August 18. Ken Giles remains in the closer's role for Houston, with Gregerson pitching more in a seventh or eighth inning setup role with Will Harris. Gregerson has a pristine 0.90 WHIP but has been tagged for a 3.15 ERA this season.

Gregerson (oblique) was activated off the 15-day DL on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Gregerson was placed on the DL on August 2 with a left oblique strain. He tossed an "aggressive" bullpen session Wednesday and he'll rejoin the team prior to the Astros' game against the Blue Jays on Friday.
