Perdomo did not factor into the decision against the Nationals on Sunday, throwing 3.1 innings and allowing one unearned run on two hits.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo's first start since last season was borne of necessity, as the Padres opted for a bullpen game to fill the void left by Matt Strahm's rib injury. Nonetheless, Perdomo performed admirably, needing only 31 pitches to eat up 3.1 innings and allowing only an unearned run after the Nationals scored on a pair of groundouts following a two-base error by Ian Kinsler in the first inning. With Strahm possibly missing only one start, it stands to reason that Perdomo will go back to filling a relief role, though with 59 career starts under his belt he figures to be first in line for a starting assignment should Strahm need to miss additional time.

Perdomo is listed as the Padres' starting pitcher for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
The Padres opted not to call up another starter to assume Matt Strahm's (ribs) spot in the rotation, so Perdomo will lead things off in the series finale in what amounts to a bullpen game. Though Perdomo has 59 career big-league starts under his belt, he's worked exclusively in relief between the majors and Triple-A El Paso this season, covering no more than three frames in any outing. Since he pitched an inning in relief Saturday, don't expect Perdomo to pitch more than once through the order Sunday before turning the game over to the bullpen.

Perdomo was called up from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo has been with El Paso since being optioned in early April after allowing three runs over seven innings during his first major-league stint of the season. The 26-year-old could immediately see action in long relief with Sunday's scheduled starter Chris Paddack (neck) a late scratch, while fill-in starter Robbie Erlin isn't fully stretched out.

Perdomo was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo pitched capably during his time with the Padres, allowing three runs in seven innings while recording a 7:2 K:BB. He'll make way on the roster for outfielder Alex Dickerson, whose contract was purchased in a corresponding move.

Perdomo was called up from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo was unable to secure a roster spot in spring training but allowed one run on seven hits and one walk across 6.2 innings during his lone start with El Paso. The right-hander has 355 major-league innings over the last three seasons but has a 5.40 ERA, 1.59 WHIP, 7.9 K/9 and 4.4 BB/9. He's still only 25 years old, but has plenty to prove in order to dispel his numbers from the last few years.

Perdomo was optioned to minor-league camp Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo failed to win a job as either a starter or a reliever this spring, hardly a surprise as he posted a 7.05 ERA last season and has a 5.40 career ERA through 355 innings. He's still just 25 years old, but the Padres have had a number of more interesting young pitchers pass him by, so it's hard to see him being a significant factor down the road given his poor track record.

The Padres no longer view Perdomo as an option for their season-opening rotation, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
After a rocky, injury plagued 2018 season, Perdomo needed a big spring to have a serious chance at winning a rotation spot. Perdomo has responded with six runs allowed on seven hits and five walks over seven frames in Cactus League play, effectively removing himself from the starting conversation. He still has two minor-league options remaining, so the Padres will likely send him to Triple-A El Paso to begin the season to continue his development as a starter.

Perdomo fired three shutout innings while allowing one hit and striking out four against the Giants on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo made his first start since returning from the disabled list Sept. 8. The hard-throwing righty stifled an otherwise lifeless Giants lineup, but he didn't factor in the decision due to the scheduled short outing. The 25-year-old finishes the year on a strong note, but his 7.05 ERA in the majors this season puts his starting prospects in jeopardy next year.

Perdomo will start Wednesday's series finale at San Francisco, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo is likely to throw about three innings as he has pitched only twice -- one inning for each outing -- since coming off the disabled list in early September. The 25-year-old had a 7.94 ERA and 2.04 WHIP over nine starts with the Padres this season.

Perdomo (shoulder) was activated from the 10-day DL on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo wound up spending a little more than a month on the disabled list with a shoulder injury. The right-hander made two minor-league rehab appearances before being cleared to return, allowing seven runs across 5.1 innings during those outings. At this point, it's unclear if Perdomo will rejoin the starting rotation or if he'll work out of the bullpen.
