Perdomo was placed on the 10-day injured list with right forearm inflammation Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo has been mostly effective while serving as a low-leverage reliever for the Padres this year, but he'll miss time with a forearm issue. The severity of the issue is unclear. The right-hander carries a 5.06 ERA and 1.31 ERA over 16 innings across nine appearances (one start) this season.

Perdomo was recalled from the Padres' alternate training site Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Several days after being sent down to alternate camp, Perdomo will return to the Padres' bullpen since Drew Pomeranz (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Perdomo made six appearances (one start) for the Padres to begin the season, posting an 8.10 ERA and 1.90 WHIP over 10 innings. He should play a lower-leverage role out of the bullpen.

Perdomo was optioned to the Padres' alternate training site Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo was mostly effective for the Padres to begin the season, but he had two appearances in which he struggled. After allowing one earned run on no hits and three walks over two innings Monday, he'll head to the alternate camp. Lefty Adrian Morejon was called up by the Padres in a corresponding move to start Tuesday against the Rangers.

Perdomo didn't factor into the decision in Monday's contest between the Padres and the Dodgers. He allowed one run on two hits and one walk across one inning.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo, making his second MLB start in the last two years, worked as an opener, tossing 26 pitches (15 strikes) in his lone inning of work. Matt Strahm came on in relief for two frames before turning things over to Cal Quantrill for three innings. Quantrill earned the win for San Diego.

The Padres will have Perdomo start Monday's series opener versus the Dodgers, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Garrett Richards was initially lined up to start Monday before the Padres added a new fifth starter to the mix Tuesday, but Perdomo and Richards will instead flip spots in the pitching schedule this week. The adjustment does little to change the outlook of either hurler, as both still line up for two starts against the same opponents during the Padres' seven-game week. Since Perdomo hasn't worked more than two innings or tossed more than 26 pitches in any of his prior three relief appearances this season, he'll likely be capped at around 50-to-75 pitches for what will be his second MLB start in the past two years.

Perdomo will start Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Luis Patino was initially in line to make the start Tuesday, but he pitched in relief during Sunday's win against the Diamondbacks. As a result, Perdomo will step in to make a spot start as the Padres will likely lean heavily on their bullpen Tuesday. The right-hander has made three relief appearances this season, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings.

Perdomo is "likely to be stretched into a swingman role with the potential to start," AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo pitched two innings in relief Wednesday, emphasizing his ability to go multiple innings out of the bullpen or as a spot starter. The 26-year-old was used almost exclusively as a reliever last season but spent most of his minor-league career as a starter.

Perdomo agreed to a one-year, $950,000 deal with the Padres on Friday, avoiding arbitration, freelance baseball writer Robert Murray reports.
EDGE Analysis
This was Perdomo's first year as an arbitration-eligible player. He finished second on the Padres with 68.2 innings of relief last year (46 appearances) and also mixed in one start. He should reprise his role as a mop up man and middle reliever.

Perdomo (2-4) took the loss versus the Diamondbacks on Friday, allowing four runs on three hits and a walk in an inning.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo allowed a walk and a single to put his first two runners aboard, and then saw them move into scoring position with a groundout. After a fielder's choice plated the tying-run, Perdomo gave up a three-run blast to Jake Lamb. The 26-year-old has allowed 11 runs (10 earned) in 10.2 innings in September. His ERA inflated to 4.06 with the latest poor performance, although it is only his first blown save of the year.

Perdomo (1-2) took the loss, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks while striking out one in the tenth inning of Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
Perdomo coughed up an RBI single to Ozzie Albies and a two-run double to Tyler Flowers to account for the damage, which the Padres were unable to match in the bottom of the inning. Perdomo has a 3.89 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 34.2 innings this season. He's allowed seven runs over his last 3.2 innings, picking up both of his losses on the year in his last three appearances.
