Lucas Duda went 4-for-4 with a double in Monday's 2-1 loss to the Braves. Making his first start at first base this season, Duda raised his average 15 points (from .226 to .241). Mets manager Terry Collins has resisted trying Duda at first base in anticipation of an eventual Ike Davis return, but there's no doubt that New York is a better team with Duda at first and Daniel Murphy at second. Duda's a terrible defender, but he's posted a nice .241/.348/.454 slash line through 216 at-bats.

Lucas Duda homered and tallied two RBI Wednesday in the Mets' defeat of the visiting Cardinals. Duda laced an RBI single to right field in the bottom of the first inning and added a solo shot to deep right-center in the bottom of the fourth. The outfielder was plagued by some quad issues earlier this month but seems to be over them now. The home run was his 11th.

Lucas Duda went 2-for-4 with a walk-off single as the Mets beat the Yankees 2-1 on Tuesday. The left fielder batted cleanup behind David Wright and he rewarded his manager with a game-winning single off Mariano Rivera in the ninth inning. Duda is quietly hitting .242/.355/.471 with nine homers this year, and batting fourth in the lineup he's actually an even-better .298/.353/.532 in 47 at-bats. With John Buck coming back to earth and Ike Davis close to falling off it, Duda could see more time at cleanup in the coming weeks.

Lucas Duda launched a solo homer in Sunday's loss to the Pirates. The longball, his eighth of the season, was a mammoth blast to center field off of Jeanmar Gomez. Duda has turned into Adam Dunn this season, batting .225 with a 21/33 BB/K ratio to go along with his eight bombs.

Lucas Duda went 2-for-3 with a walk and a pair of solo homers in a win over the Nationals on Friday. It was his second two-homer game of the young season. While Duda was a disappointment last season, he is hitting .308/.491/.744 with five home runs, two doubles and a league-leading 1.234 OPS through 14 games. He's always been a patient hitter and the Mets believe in his power, so he should be owned in deeper mixed leagues right now.

Lucas Duda (back) is back in the Mets' lineup Friday. Duda hasn't played since exiting the second half of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Rockies because of lower back tightness. He returns to a .278/.469/.583 batting line with three longballs.
