Wright won't start as scheduled Wednesday against the Nationals since the game was postponed due to inclement weather.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old now won't start again until at least early next week since Max Fried, Robbie Erlin and Josh Tomlin are set to start this weekend for Atlanta, per Mark Bowman of MLB.com. Wright could start Tuesday against the Yankees, but the Braves could get creative with their rotation since they have two scheduled off days next week.

Wright (0-3) lasted just three innings while giving up three runs on two hits and six walks as in an 8-2 loss to the Marlins on Friday. He struck out just one batter.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a rough first couple of weeks for Wright, who more than likely would have already been removed from the Braves' starting rotation if they weren't so desperate for healthy arms. The 2017 first-round pick has given up 17 hits with a poor 12:16 K:BB over 15 innings. His next start is scheduled for Thursday against Washington, another powerful offense that should present Wright with another challenge.

Wright (0-2) took the loss Saturday, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks over six innings as Atlanta was downed 5-0 by the Phillies. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The young right-hander traded goose eggs with veteran Jake Arrieta until the fourth inning, when Wright served up homers to J.T. Realmuto and Jay Bruce. Wright did throw 91 pitches (59 strikes), but his inability to consistently command his plus raw stuff continues to hold him back in the bigs. He'll look to rein in his 6.75 ERA during his next start, scheduled for Friday in Miami.

Wright will start Saturday's game against the Phillies after Friday's game was rained out.
EDGE Analysis
Friday's game was postponed with approximately an hour remaining until the first pitch, so Wright will still be able to start in Saturday's contest. The team had yet to announce a starter for Saturday prior to the postponement. Max Fried will start the first game of a doubleheader Sunday, while Bryse Wilson is a top candidate to start Game 2.

Wright fired 3.1 scoreless innings in Sunday's win against the Mets but didn't factor into the decision. He allowed five hits and four walks while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
Although Wright didn't allow any Mets to cross the plate Sunday, he struggled with control, which helped contribute to the nine baserunners that he allowed over just 3.1 innings. As a result, he didn't qualify for the win due to the length of his start. The right-hander was slightly more effective Sunday than he was in his season debut, and he'll attempt to build on his momentum on the road Friday against the Phillies.

Wright (0-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Rays after surrendering five runs on four hits and three walks over 2.2 innings. He had three strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old didn't give up any extra-base hits, but he had a difficult time keeping Tampa Bay off the basepaths before his early exit. Wright will look for a rebound performance at home against the Mets on Sunday.

Wright is slated to start Tuesday's game in Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Wright's inclusion on the pitching schedule confirms that he'll begin the season as the fifth man in the Atlanta rotation. With Cole Hamels (triceps) on the 45-day injured list, Wright should have the opportunity to stick in the rotation for the majority of the season if his performance warrants it. Jhoulys Chacin, Touki Toussaint, Josh Tomlin and Bryse Wilson wait in the wings as potential replacements in the event Wright struggles in his initial starts.

Wright is a little behind the rest of the Braves pitchers in summer camp, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He threw his first live batting practice Sunday and will pitch in an intrasquad game over the next three days. Wright was apparently slow to arrive to camp due to coronavirus testing and travel. Bowman notes that Wright is still poised to either be the No. 5 starter or a piggyback option, perhaps in front of or behind Sean Newcomb or Josh Tomlin. Wright is arguably the most talented starting pitcher of that trio, so if he stays on track, he could serve as a true starter for the bulk of the shortened season.

Wright will compete for the final spot in the Braves' rotation with Felix Hernandez opting out of the 2020 season, Charles Odum of the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
He seems like the most deserving option, but Wright will have to stave off Sean Newcomb and, to a lesser extent, Bryse Wilson, in the coming weeks. Wright logged a 2.60 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 92:23 K:BB in 79.2 innings over his final 13 starts at Triple-A last season and posted a 2.03 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 15:3 K:BB in 13.1 innings this spring.

Wright could see consistent usage as part of the Atlanta staff this season if rosters are expanded beyond 26 players, Gabriel Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
The team's No. 3 fantasy prospect, Wright was still competing for the final spot in the rotation when spring training was suspended, but he appeared to be behind Felix Hernandez in the race. The delayed start to the regular season also makes it likely Cole Hamels (shoulder) will be ready, pushing the 24-year-old right-hander further down the depth chart. Wright would be one of the top candidates to handle a long relief or sixth starter role for the team, however, along with Bryse Wilson and Touki Toussaint. Wright has struggled in his brief cups of coffee in the majors but posted a solid 4.17 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 116:35 K:BB in 112.1 innings last year for Triple-A Gwinnett, including a dominant 2.60 ERA and 10.5 K/9 over his final 13 starts.
