Atlanta manager Brian Snitker confirmed Wright will start Wednesday's series finale against the Mets in New York, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
When Wright was promoted from Triple-A Gwinnett a day ago, the prevailing expectation was that he would slot into the rotation as a replacement for the injured Max Fried (finger), but Atlanta waited until after Tuesday's 3-0 win before making the 25-year-old's starting assignment official. A 2017 first-round pick, Wright has made appearances with the big club in each of the past four seasons, but he has yet to establish himself as a long-term fixture in the rotation. Through 20 career appearances (13 starts) with Atlanta, Wright owns a 6.09 ERA (6.37 FIP), 1.63 WHIP and 18.6 percent strikeout rate.

Wright was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett prior to Tuesday's game against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
With Max Fried landing on the IL with a blister on his left index finger, Wright is back with the big club. The right-hander previously made a spot start April 16, allowing two runs on three hits across 4.1 inning against the Cubs before heading back to Gwinnett. He figures to have a strong chance to start in place of Fried on Wednesday, though Atlanta has not named him the starter at this point.

Wright was optioned to Atlanta's alternate training site following his start Friday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Wright pitched well enough in his first start of the year, allowing two runs on three hits in 4.1 innings while striking out five. His control wasn't particularly good, however, as he walked two batters and hit four more. Bryse Wilson was recalled to take his place on the roster.

Wright allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out five over 4.1 innings in Friday's win over the Cubs. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Wright performed well in his season debut Friday, as he only gave up runs in the second and fifth innings prior to his removal. Although he only threw 78 pitches against the Cubs, it was still an encouraging start to the right-hander's season. Wright should receive at least one more turn in the rotation, and he lines up to make his next start at home against the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Wright was recalled from the alternate training site and will start Friday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old missed out on a rotation spot to begin the season but will join the big-league club after spending the last few weeks at the alternate training site. Wright should receive at least a couple turns through the rotation, but he could get a longer look depending how long Drew Smyly (forearm) and Max Fried (hamstring) remain on the injured list.

Atlanta optioned Wright to its alternate training site Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
According to Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Bryse Wilson had clearly moved ahead of Wright for the final spot in Atlanta's Opening Day rotation, so the latter's demotion doesn't come as a major surprise. The 25-year-old right-hander has yet to find much success over parts of three seasons in the majors, posting a cumulative 6.22 ERA and 53:43 K:BB in 63.2 innings.

Wright has posted a 4.09 ERA and 10:5 K:BB through 11 Grapefruit League innings.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander hasn't been dominant this spring, but he's delivered some solid innings, and perhaps most importantly he hasn't served up a home run after being taken deep seven times in 38 innings last season. Wright is still competing for the No. 5 starter role to begin the season as Atlanta waits for Mike Soroka (Achilles) to prove he's fully healthy, and Bryse Wilson (1.98 ERA, 9:4 K:BB in 13.2 spring innings) is also firmly in the mix for the assignment.

Wright will make his second start of spring training Friday against Minnesota, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Max Fried (COVID-19 protocols) was scratched from the start, so Wright will take the mound in his place. Depending on the status of Mike Soroka (Achilles), Wright could in the mix for a rotation role to start the season. He struggled in the spring training opener, allowing four hits and three earned runs while walking one and striking out one across 1.1 frames.

Wright will start Atlanta's Grapefruit League opener Sunday against the Rays, Gabriel Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander is in the mix for a potential vacancy in the team's rotation to begin the season if Mike Soroka (Achilles) isn't quite ready to go for Opening Day. Wright struggled to a 5.21 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 30:24 K:BB through 38 innings last year, but the 25-year-old did close out the 2020 regular season with three straight quality starts and may be ready to take the next step forward in his development.

Wright lasted just two thirds of an inning at the start of Wednesday's blowout loss to the Dodgers in Game 3 of the NLCS, allowing seven runs on five hits and two walks.
EDGE Analysis
Wright allowed the first seven of the playoff-record 11 runs the Dodgers scored in the first inning. He seemed to be settling down after allowing a single and a double to start the game, recording a pair of groundouts, but he proceeded to allow the next five batters to reach base, including back-to-back homers by Joc Pederson and Edwin Rios. While the Braves likely didn't anticipate Wright struggling quite this much, they presumably didn't have particularly high expectations for him, as he owns a career 6.22 ERA in 63.2 big-league innings.
