Gibson did a good job of mixing up his pitches Saturday and struck out five of the first eight batters he faced. His biggest mistake on the day came in the form of a hanging sinker with two outs in the third, which Nico Hoerner ripped to center field to score Mike Tauchman and Miles Mastrobuoni and put the Orioles down 2-0. The right-hander later surrendered what would be the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly in the fifth, giving him his first loss since May 14. Gibson is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Cubs this weekend.

Gibson has worked as the ace for a thriving Orioles squad, posting six wins and a 3.82 ERA through 11 starts.

Gibson (5-3) picked up the win in Friday's 6-2 victory over the Blue Jays, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out five.

The veteran right-hander finally got some run support, as incredibly the Orioles had been shut out in each of Gibson's first three starts in May. The quality start was his fifth of the year, and he'll take a 4.27 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 41:18 K:BB through 59 innings into his next outing, which is likely to come on the road next week in Yankee Stadium.
