Gausman (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day IL, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
He tossed 3.1 innings, striking out five, in his final Grapefruit League outing over the weekend, but is not quite ready to take a spot in the Braves' rotation. He could return late next week.

Gausman (shoulder) allowed three hits and three walks over 3.1 scoreless innings while striking out five in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander will begin the season on the IL, but his shoulder didn't seem to be an issue Sunday and the delay in his season debut is simply due to him needing to build up his pitch count. Barring a setback, Gausman should be activated and take the mound ahead of an April 5 home start against the Marlins.

Gausman (shoulder) will begin the season on the injured list, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman is behind schedule due to a minor shoulder issue that delayed him earlier in camp, so the right-hander will stay back at extended spring training to get up to speed before joining the rotation when first eligible (April 5 against the Marlins). He tossed 58 pitches in a minor-league game Tuesday but will need to get up to 90 pitches before being cleared to join the rotation.

Gausman threw 58 pitches in a minor-league game Tuesday but will need to get up to 90 pitches before he's considered ready to go, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman is behind schedule due to a minor shoulder issue which delayed him earlier in camp. He's not yet a lock for the Opening Day roster, though the Braves have two off days in the first six days of the season, so they can afford to skip his turn once if he's only slightly behind.

Gausman will pitch in a minor-league game Tuesday, Gabriel Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's the time of the spring when teams start having their starting pitchers duck division rivals, and with the Braves facing the Nats in Grapefruit League action Tuesday, Gausman will get his work in on a back field while Max Fried takes the bump with the big-league squad. Atlanta remains confident Gausman will be ready to take his first turn through the rotation once the regular season begins.

Gausman allowed three runs on two hits and one walk while recording one strikeout over two-thirds of an inning during Tuesday's spring start against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman's second start of spring training was a brief one, as he was forced to throw in the bullpen after exiting the game to reach his desired pitch count. The 28-year-old said after the game he has yet to incorporate his splitter, and is mostly working on his changup and breaking ball, accroding to 680 The Fan Atlanta. The team recently felt Gausman still had enough time to be prepared for his first turn through the rotation, but the briefness of his first two spring outings doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Though Gausman (shoulder) gave up four hits and three earned runs over 1.1 innings in his return to action Friday, he felt positive overall, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. "My arm feels good," Gausman said. "It feels really quick right now. My body is working really well with it. Everything I'm doing [in the trainer's room] to get my shoulder right for the season and the important games is paying off. The ball is coming out good and it has life through the zone. That's kind of what you look for. The biggest thing right now is being healthy."
EDGE Analysis
All that said, Gausman is still a little behind right now. The Braves and Gausman feel he'll have enough time to be ready for his first turn through the rotation, but these next couple of spring training starts are important for him in the process of getting up to speed.

Gausman (shoulder) will start Friday against the Phillies, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman's start to spring was delayed by shoulder soreness, but the issue did not appear to be a major one. Assuming his start Friday goes well, he'll remain on track to be ready by the start of the season.

Gausman (shoulder) is on track to make his Grapefruit League debut later this week, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gausman is ready to make his spring debut after getting through a live batting practice session with no issues Monday. Barring any setbacks throughout the rest of camp, the right-hander should be fully operational for the start of the season.
