Justin Turner is not in the Mets' starting lineup Friday night against the Diamondbacks.
While Mets manager Terry Collins didn't give a specific reason for his absence, he said Turner is "beat up" and playing through a lot of things right now. He might also get Saturday off. Willie Harris will start in his place at second base Friday and bat second against right-hander Ian Kennedy.

Justin Turner slugged two home runs Saturday in the Mets' 11-7 defeat of the Braves.
Turner hit a solo shot to deep right field in the bottom of the first inning and a two-run blast to left field in the bottom of the fourth. It was a surprising show of power from the 26-year-old second baseman, who has just four total home runs and 41 total RBI so far this season.

Justin Turner went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI against the Giants on Sunday.
Turner entered the game having hit just .208 in 130 at-bats since the beginning of June. He stands to lose a lot of playing time if the Mets get David Wright and Ike Davis back at the end of the month as hoped.

Justin Turner is not starting Saturday after his right thumb issue flared up.
Turner missed a pair of games last week with the problem. He should be considered day-to-day for the time being, but hopefully this doesn't become a nagging issue.

Justin Turner was the "hero" on Wednesday evening, taking a Brad Ziegler curveball off of his left leg with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 13th inning, propelling the Mets to a 3-2 win over the A's at home.
Just 1-for-6 entering the at-bat, Turner delivered the kind of strange victory the Mets usually seem to be on the other side of. After being the talk of baseball in May, Turner has cooled off big time in June, batting just .200 through his first 70 at-bats.

Justin Turner (thumb) is back in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Braves.
Turner missed the previous two games with a right thumb injury, but he's back in there at third base against the left-hander Mike Minor. Lucas Duda, who started the first two games of the series, is back on the bench.
