Justin Turner was the "hero" on Wednesday evening, taking a Brad Ziegler curveball off of his left leg with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 13th inning, propelling the Mets to a 3-2 win over the A's at home. Just 1-for-6 entering the at-bat, Turner delivered the kind of strange victory the Mets usually seem to be on the other side of. After being the talk of baseball in May, Turner has cooled off big time in June, batting just .200 through his first 70 at-bats.
