Mets manager Terry Collins said Thursday that Justin Turner will get time in the outfield next spring. A little versatility never hurt anybody. Turner has made starts at first base, second base, third base and shortstop this season while batting .279 with a .676 OPS.

Justin Turner (ankle) took at-bats Tuesday. Turner still hasn't been cleared for running, but he's beginning to ramp up his rehab and should be moving around freely at some point soon. He's been on the disabled list since the end of May with a sprained right ankle.

Justin Turner was diagnosed with a right ankle sprain. Turner suffered the injury Monday while running the bases. X-rays were negative, but the Mets seem likely to place him on the 15-day disabled list so that they can bring in some much-needed middle infield depth.

Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that the Rockies "remain strongly interested" in a trade for Mets' infielder Justin Turner. The Rockies' efforts to acquire Marco Sctuaro from the Red Sox hit a snag, but Renck calls Turner a "more attainable target" to play second base. We wouldn't argue with that. Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reported last month that the Rockies and Mets were talking about a deal that would send Turner to Colorado in exchange for Eric Young, Jr. The 27-year-old infielder batted .260/.334/.356 with four homers, 51 RBI and a .690 OPS over 487 plate appearances with New York last season. As of now, Jonathan Herrera, Chris Nelson and D.J. LeMahieu figure to compete for the Rockies' starting second base job during spring training.

Justin Turner returned to action on Sunday September 11.

Justin Turner was out of Sunday's lineup for the second straight game due to a stomach virus. "His stomach feels better but he still has a little bit of a sinus and headache issue going on," Mets manager Terry Collins said. Ruben Tejada started in Turner's place again. "I'm hoping [Monday] I wake up and my head feels a little clearer," Turner said.

Justin Turner was scratched from Saturday's lineup due to a stomach virus. Turner, who delivered a walk-off hit Friday, was replaced in the lineup by Ruben Tejada. He should be ready to roll in a day or two.

Justin Turner drove in Jason Pridie in the bottom of the ninth to give the Mets a 5-4 victory over the Cubs. Turner finished the night 3-of-5 with a run and an additional RBI. The streaking second baseman has now hit safely in his last seven games, raising his average from .257 to .268.

Justin Turner went 3-for-4 with two walks and an RBI against the Marlins in a 12-inning win Tuesday. NL-only owners are the only players who have been able to salvage anything from Turner this year, but he's been decent in deeper formats, hitting .262/.331/.356 with 47 RBI in 392 at-bats. The 26-year-old second baseman also has four homers and seven steals.

Justin Turner returned to action on Saturday August 13.
