Nicasio has given up one run on three hits and one walk while striking out four in four innings thus far in spring training.
EDGE Analysis
He has received at least two days off in between appearances, as the Mariners will be careful with his workload in advance of a season where they may lean heavily on the 31-year-old righty in high-leverage situations. Meanwhile, closer Edwin Diaz has given up two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out five in four innings of Cactus League play. Though Diaz ranks in the top half of closers for fantasy due to his high ceiling, his volatility and and Nicasio's success as a reliever has made the latter a popular flyer at the end of drafts.

Nicasio signed a two-year deal with the Mariners on Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Nicasio split time between three different organizations last year -- St. Louis, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia -- and accumulated a 2.61 ERA and 1.08 WHIP during 76 relief appearances. During those outings, he posted a 72:20 K:BB in 72.1 innings while notching six saves and 21 holds, and will look to find stability within the Mariners' bullpen in 2018.

Nicasio pitched a scoreless ninth inning to collect his sixth save of the season during Saturday's win over Milwaukee.
EDGE Analysis
It's been an impressive stretch for the 31-year-old righty, as Nicasio has allowed just two runs through 16.1 innings over his past 15 appearances while striking out 14 batters and recording four wins and four saves. He has the pitching arsenal to succeed in high-leverage situations, and with unrestricted free agency ahead, Nicasio could land in a favorable fantasy situation if he signs with the right team. As a result, he's a potential speculative add in keeper/dynasty settings.

Nicasio got the final four outs to earn his fifth save in Tuesday's 8-7 win over the Cubs, allowing one hit with two walks and three strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Nicasio came in with two down and the bases empty in the eighth inning after two Chicago home runs off Jake Brebbia had trimmed a five-run lead down to one. He nearly surrendered the tying run on a Kris Bryant ground rule double that came a few feet from clearing the wall, but got Anthony Rizzo to pop out to end the threat in the eighth. Nicasio didn't allow any more contact after that, issuing a pair of free passes to go with three swinging strikeouts. While he's got a solid grip on the closer role, Nicasio may not be available in the coming days after needing 31 pitches to secure this one.

Nicasio (4-5) was the winning pitcher against the Reds on Tuesday. He gave up a solo home run and struck out one batter in 1.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
He worked a scoreless ninth inning in a tie game to send it to extras. After the Cardinals took the lead in the top of the 10th, Nicasio came back out, but he showed signs of fatigue and was ultimately pulled after his 29th pitch. That opened the door for Tyler Lyons to earn the save, but it seems clear that Nicasio is manager Mike Matheny's preferred closing option.

Nicasio gave up a run on two hits in the ninth inning of Thursday's win over the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
The Cardinals extended their lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, so it wasn't a save situation when Nicasio entered, but it's clear that he's now the preferred endgame option in St. Louis. He earned saves in his first two appearances with the team following his trade from Philadelphia on Sept. 8 and 9. Tyler Lyons, meanwhile, worked the seventh inning Thursday. Seung Hwan Oh is currently nursing a hamstring injury.

Nicasio threw a scoreless ninth inning Saturday to record the save for the second time in as many games as a Cardinal.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander logged 1.1 innings in doing the job during his Friday debut for the Cardinals, and this repeat performance may work in his favor to gain a big lead in the closer battle over -- if not take the job outright from -- Seung Hwan Oh and Tyler Lyons, who got the win after a scoreless eighth. Despite suiting up for his third team of the season, Nicasio has found new life as a reliever this year, posting a 2.69 ERA with 8.9 K/9 over 63.2 innings. Seemingly holding the inside track for saves, Nicasio is worth a pickup in all fantasy leagues possible.

Nicasio threw 1.1 scoreless innings Friday to record his third save of the season, and first as a Cardinal, in a 4-1 win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
In his first appearance with St. Louis, Nicasio got David Freese to hit a soft comebacker to end the eighth inning and then stuck around to finish the job. The Cards' closer situation appears to be headed for a committee, with Nicasio, Tyler Lyons and Seung Hwan Oh all potentially factoring into the mix as the club tries to work their way into the NL playoff picture.

Nicasio was traded to the Cardinals in exchange of infielder Eliezer Alvarez on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Just a few days after being claimed off waivers by the Phillies, Nicasio will pack his bags against and join the Cardinals' bullpen. He only made two appearances with Philadelphia, but has posted a 2.79 ERA and 1.09 WHIP over 61.1 innings throughout the course of the year between the Phillies and the Pirates. Moving forward, he figures to be used in high-leverage situations for St. Louis as the club looks to make a late push for the playoffs in September.

Nicasio was claimed off waivers by the Phillies on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The Phillies agreed to take on the $600,000 left on Nicasio's contract to gain his services for the final month of the season. The 31-year-old reliever compiled a 2.85 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 60 strikeouts in 60 innings for the Pirates earlier in the season. He'll likely
