Nicasio was traded to the Cardinals in exchange of infielder Eliezer Alvarez on Wednesday.

Just a few days after being claimed off waivers by the Phillies, Nicasio will pack his bags against and join the Cardinals' bullpen. He only made two appearances with Philadelphia, but has posted a 2.79 ERA and 1.09 WHIP over 61.1 innings throughout the course of the year between the Phillies and the Pirates. Moving forward, he figures to be used in high-leverage situations for St. Louis as the club looks to make a late push for the playoffs in September.
