Josh Rutledge went 1-for-4 with his 12th stolen base of the season in the Rockies 2-1 victory over the Dodgers in Sunday's season finale. It was tough sledding for the 24-year-old infielder this season, as he was bounced back and forth between the Rockies and Triple-A Colorado Springs. His final line on the season was a disappointing .235/.294/.337 with seven homers, 45 runs, 19 RBI and 12 steals in 285 at-bats. He did however hit .328 (19-for-58) over the final month of the season, which should give him a leg up in the competition to begin the 2014 season as the Rockies starting second baseman.

Since returning from Triple-A on September 1, Rutledge is 8-for-17 (.471) with a homer, three RBI and a pair of steals. The Rockies don't have many better options while Troy Tulowitzki is out, though, so Rutledge will likely continue to see playing time unless his struggles persist.
