The Rangers have yet to do full testing on Josh Hamilton to find out exactly what injury he's dealing with. It could be a sports hernia, a groin tear or something else. But, as Buster Olney of ESPN.com notes, it doesn't really matter at this point, because Hamilton will continue to play through the ailment. He's clearly compromised at the plate and probably should be moved down in the order, though manager Ron Washington doesn't appear to have any inclination of making a move. Hamilton did deliver the game-tying sac fly in Game 2.

Josh Hamilton plans on using his upper body more when he swings as a means to avoid stress on his ailing left groin. It sure seems like Hamilton has already been taking all-arms swings lately, as his groin has become a significant issue. Nevertheless, he said he's used the all-arms approach before when his lower half has bothered him. The injury has really hurt the outfielder's power, as he's slugged just .378 during the postseason, and it particularly affects him on check swings. Rangers manager Ron Washington has no plans to remove Hamilton from the third spot in the lineup, though.

Josh Hamilton went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in the loss to the Cardinals in Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday night. Hamilton, who is playing through a left groin strain, was wincing during every at-bat and also looked uncomfortable playing the field. He is batting .267/.286/.378 over 45 at-bats during the postseason and hasn't homered since September 23. "He's been battling through it basically since the end of the season," said Ian Kinsler. "The cold weather is never good. He's battled through it and he's going to do the same thing [today]." While the injury is clearly affecting his production, Rangers manager Ron Washington has given no indication that he will drop him from the third spot in the lineup.

Josh Hamilton admitted in an interview on ESPN 103.3 FM Saturday that his nagging groin injury leaves him at "about 50 percent" healthy. "I'm about 50 percent," Hamilton said. "I'm going to give you 100 percent of my 50 percent." Hamilton has been playing with the groin ailment for a few months now and receives daily treatment. He also sat out Friday's team workout in order to rest. The good news is that plans to continue playing with the injury through the end of the World Series. Hamilton has batted .293/.311/.415 with no homers in 41 postseason at-bats, but he does have five doubles and has driven in seven runs.

Josh Hamilton (grion) and Adrian Beltre (knee) skipped the Rangers' voluntary workout on Friday. Both are dealing with nagging injuries. Hamilton, who's 7-for-22 with four doubles and four RBIs in the ALCS, has been getting extra treatment for a groin injury that is not expected to impact his availability for Game 6. Beltre fouled a pitch off his left knee Tuesday and is hitless in his last 11 at-bats.

Josh Hamilton acknowledged after Wednesday's game that he is playing through groin soreness. "I've been playing with this for a while," said Hamilton. "My groin is sore. A lot of guys are hurting right now. That's part of it this time of year. I'm fine." Hamilton is batting .273 (9-for-33) with four doubles and four RBI during the postseason. Don't look for the injury to impact his availability.

Josh Hamilton hit his 25th home run in Friday's win over the Mariners. He took Anthony Vasquez deep in the third inning. Hamilton has now reached at least 25 home runs in three of his first four seasons in Texas. If not for missing over 40 games with injury, he would have also reached 100 RBI for the third time since 2008.

Josh Hamilton is starting in center field Friday against the Mariners. It will be his first start in center field since August 28. "Just get Hamilton some repetition out there," said Rangers manager Ron Washington. "He hasn't been over there in a while so tonight I thought I'd get him over there. Things could change, but Washington will likely use David Murphy, Hamilton and Nelson Cruz from left to right during the playoffs.
