Josh Hamilton became the 16th player in major league history to hit four home runs in a game during Tuesday's 10-3 blowout win over the Orioles. It's the first four-homer game in MLB since Carlos Delgado's big night back in 2003. Hamilton took Jake Arrieta deep in the first and third, Zach Phillips in the seventh and Darren O'Day in the eighth. All four of Hamilton's longballs were of the two-run variety, and he also added a double for good measure, giving him an AL-record 18 total bases on the night. The Rangers' slugger moved ahead of Matt Kemp for the major-league home run lead with 13, and he's now batting .406 with a major league-leading 36 RBI.

Josh Hamilton went 1-for-3 with his 26th RBI in Sunday's loss to the Indians. Hamilton singled in the first and played Ian Kinsler with an eighth-inning grounder. Returning from a back injury, Hamilton went just 3-for-11 in Texas' series loss in Cleveland, but appears to be healthy. With the Rangers head to Baltimore for a four-game series before returning home, Hamilton should be ready to resume raking.

Josh Hamilton (back) is out of the Rangers' starting lineup for the second straight day Tuesday. Hamilton hasn't played since leaving Sunday's game with back spasms. It's not a major concern, but the Rangers are playing it safe with the injury-prone outfielder. David Murphy will make the start in left field Tuesday while Craig Gentry plays center.

Josh Hamilton (back) is not in the Rangers' starting lineup Monday night versus the Blue Jays. Hamilton was pulled in the second inning of Sunday's game against the Rays after complaining of back spasms. He told reporters that he would be ready to play Monday, but the Rangers have apparently decided to play it safe. The 30-year-old is batting .395/.438/.744 with nine dingers and 25 RBI in 22 games.

Josh Hamilton (back) expects to play Monday. Hamilton made an early exit from Sunday night's game against the Rays after experiencing back spasms. He's had the problem before and told reporters that it usually only takes 12 hours for a full recovery. The 30-year-old outfielder is batting .395/.438/.744 with nine home runs and 25 RBI in 22 games this season, and has to be considered the early favorite for American League MVP.

Josh Hamilton was removed from Sunday night's game against the Rays in the second inning with a stiff back. Hamilton tried to play through the injury by grimacing through stretches in the field for an inning. He is day-to-day. David Murphy replaced Hamilton in left field. Texas' next series is in Toronto on the turf, so one wonders if that may affect Hamilton's timetable.

Josh Hamilton launched his eighth homer in Monday's loss to the Yankees. The solo shot, which was his lone hit of the game, came in the sixth inning of CC Sabathia. Hamilton leads the American League with his eight bombs and trails Matt Kemp by just one while also sporting a .408 batting mark.

Josh Hamilton told reporters Sunday that he's no longer bothered by the sun during day games. "I'm putting those drops in my eyes and I've got some shades I like for the field," Hamilton said. "I got it figured out toward the end of last year." He hit just .220 in day games in 2011. This season, he's off to a 12-for-24 (.500) start in daylight and batting .418/.438/.776 overall.

Rangers CEO Nolan Ryan said recent talks between the team and Josh Hamilton's agent, Mike Moye, were "very preliminary" and that no deal is imminent. "It's getting a feel for what their expectations are, where they feel like this should go and then it falls back on us discussing what we think is in our best interest and realistic," Ryan said. "It's very preliminary. There aren't strong negotiations where something's going to get done in a short period of time." Hamilton is currently slated for free agency after the season, though he conceded last month that it would "probably cost less" for the Rangers to sign him before the end of the season.

Josh Hamilton went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and two doubles in a 6-2 win over the Twins on Saturday. A monster game for Hamilton, who also had three runs scored. His solo home run in the third inning traveled 425 feet. He's now batting .378 (14-for-37) with three homers and a 1.071 OPS on the young season. Somebody wants a new contract.
