Josh Hamilton hit a walk-off, two-run home run Friday to lead the Rangers to a 8-7 win over the Blue Jays.
It was his 20th of the season, and his second in as many days. The Rangers had left 13 men on base prior to Hamilton's walk-off, and were just 1-of-15 with runners in scoring position. Hamilton finished the game 2-for-6 with a strikeout. He's now batting .376//431/.771 with 53 RBI and a 1.201 OPS.

Josh Hamilton left Friday's game against the Blue Jays in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Hamilton went 1-for-3 with his 19th home run, a walk and two runs scored before Craig Gentry replaced him as a pinch-hitter. He has been under the weather recently and the Rangers were well ahead at the time, so we wouldn't look into it too much.

Rangers president and CEO Nolan Ryan said he doesn't expect Josh Hamilton's contract situation to be resolved until after the season.
The Rangers reportedly reopened contract discussions earlier this month, but Hamilton is expected to test the free agent market, and will likely have serious competition for his services. "It's hard to predict what will happen, things just have to play out," Ryan said. "We're certainly hoping we can work a deal out. I think they're probably of the mindset to go through the season, see what happens and see what the market is. What that timetable is, I don't know. If I had to guess, it would be at the end of November or in December."

Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Rangers have reopened negotiations with Josh Hamilton on a possible contract extension.
Contract talks were tabled following Hamilton's relapse in early February, but the two sides recently began discussing a long-term contract. However, the Rangers remain weary of signing him to a contract similar in value to the one the Angels gave to Albert Pujols (10 years, $240 million) or the one the Tigers gave to Prince Fielder (nine years, $214 million). It's an understandable stance given Hamilton's addiction and injury history. If the impending free agent continues his torrid pace, he might find his best offer on the open market.
