Hamilton's 36 bombs on the year are already a new career high by four. His 112 RBI lead the majors.

Josh Hamilton hit a pair of solo home runs in Wednesday's loss to the Yankees. Hamilton took Freddy Garcia deep in the fourth, and tagged him again in the sixth. The multi-homer night was his third of the season, but his first since May 11. Hamilton, of course, hit four home runs in Camden Yards on May 8. Now hitting .316 with five home runs in the month of August, Hamilton has finally moved beyond his mid-season malaise.

Josh Hamilton continued to heat up in Sunday's win over the Tigers, going 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and stolen base. Hamilton tagged Rick Porcello for a two-run bomb in the first. The home run was his third in four games, and 32nd of the season. He's now 15-for-48 (.313) in August after hitting .177 in July and .223 in June. He's driven in 16 runs in 11 August games. If he's not "back," he's close to it.

Josh Hamilton hit his 30th homer and drove in four runs in all as the Rangers topped the Red Sox 10-9 on Wednesday. Hamilton tripled in two runs in his first at-bat and hit a two-run homer in the fifth. He also singled in the contest. He's the second player this year to reach 30 homers, putting him right behind Adam Dunn for the major league lead at 31. The homer was his third in 23 games since the All-Star break.

Josh Hamilton will return to the Rangers' lineup Sunday, batting fifth. Hamilton will serve as the DH and be pushed down two notches from his usual No. 3 spot in the lineup. Hamilton was given a routine day off Saturday. The slumping Texas slugger is batting just .145/.215/.290 with three homers and 10 RBI in 19 games this month. Adrian Beltre is batting third Sunday against the White Sox, with Nelson Cruz hitting cleanup.

Josh Hamilton homered in a victory over the A's Tuesday. It was his only hit of the game. Reports have surfaced over fatigue to various All-Star participants and Hamilton went 1-for-10 (a single) with six strikeouts in three games against the Mariners coming out of the break prior to this evening. We wouldn't be concerned about the All-World outfielder, who is now batting .300 with a .995 OPS and 28 homers in 313 at-bats.

Josh Hamilton and Mike Napoli spoke about their impending free agency status on Monday. "I'd love to stay in Texas," Napoli told CBS Sports' Jon Heyman. "But if something doesn't get worked out it's my time to be a free agent." Hamilton offered similar sentiments. "We love Texas," he said. "We'd love to stay in Texas. But obviously we've put talks on hold by mutual agreement." It's clear that neither player is keen on giving Texas a discount. Unless the Rangers blow Napoli away with an extension offer this summer, expect both he and Hamilton to shop their services on the open market this off-season.

Washington tabbed Bautista as his cleanup hitter for the second straight year. This time around, he pushed Granderson from leadoff to the nine-hole and elevated Hamilton from fifth to third and Cano from eighth to second.
