Marmolejos signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on Tuesday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
EDGE Analysis
Marmolejos appeared in 101 games for Triple-A Fresno last season, hitting .315/.366/.545 with 16 home runs and 63 RBI. The 26-year-old has yet to make his major-league debut, but he will get an invite to the Mariners' major-league camp this spring.

The Nationals outrighted Marmolejos to Triple-A Syracuse last week.
EDGE Analysis
None of the other 29 teams were willing to open up a 40-man roster spot for Marmolejos when he was designated for assignment, so the first baseman will stick around in the Washington organization. Over his 439 plate appearances at Syracuse this season, Marmolejos has slashed .257/.310/.367 with seven home runs and 42 RBI.

Marmolejos was designated for assignment by the Nationals on Thursday, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mamolejos was cast off the 40-man roster in order to make room for Tommy Milone, who will start Thursday's game against the Marlins. Through 96 games at Triple-A Syracuse this year, Marmolejos has hit .252 with a .663 OPS.

Marmolejos was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse by the Nationals on Tuesday, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The move hardly comes as a surprise considering Marmolejos had yet to exceed Double-A ball, where he slashed .288/.361/.458 with 14 home runs in 400 at-bats in 2017. The 25-year-old could still use some increased power output, but posting similar numbers at Triple-A Syracuse give him a decent chance at seeing the big leagues at some point this season.

Marmolejos was activated from the 60-day disabled list and optioned to Double-A Harrisburg, Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The first baseman is batting .385/.453/.631 with three home runs and 13 RBI in 75 plate appearances for Harrisburg this year. Marmolejos has no real shot of any significant time with the Nationals unless they pile up injuries, but the 24-year-old is increasing his stock for the long term and should head to Triple-A Syracuse in the coming weeks or months. Unfortunately, he'll have to prove he'll carry enough power to generate much interest as a first baseman.

Marmalejos went 5-for-6 with a double, a home run, three runs scored and five RBI in Double-A Harrisburg's win over Erie on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old started the season on the DL due to a forearm strain but has hit safely in eight of nine games since being activated and now has a .385/.405/.641 slash line. Marmolejos doesn't have the power to profile as a typical major-league first baseman, but he makes good contact and could carve out a career as a bench bat, and might even someday start for a second-division club willing to accept a James Loney-like bat at the cold corner. Given his age and the apparent ease with which he's handling Double-A pitching, expect him to receive a promotion to Triple-A in short order.

Marmolejos was placed on the 60-day disabled list with a left forearm strain to make room for catcher Matt Wieters on the 40-man roster, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He hasn't yet played in the majors but has posted some nice numbers at the lower levels in recent years, including a .289/.370/.475 line combined last year at High-A Potomac and Double-A Harrisburg in 2016. There's no clear path to big-league duty, though, and this procedural move will keep the 24-year-old in limbo for a bit longer.

Marmolejos was added to the Nationals' 40-man roster Friday, Dan Kolko of MASN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Marmolejos is not one of Washington's premier prospects, but he continues to hit well in the minors, tallying 13 home runs and 45 doubles between High-A and Double-A last season. That being said, a blocked path to the majors and a high strikeout rate seem to be capping the 23-year-old's ability to rise through the organization.
