Jonathan Lucroy (hand) went 2-for-3 with a double Thursday in his first rehab game with Class A Wisconsin.
Lucroy also played five innings behind the plate and committed a throwing error. He's expected to play with Wisconsin through Sunday before taking the day off Monday and played with Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday and Wednesday. Barring any setbacks, Lucroy could be activated next Thursday. He's worth stashing on a DL-spot in most mixed leagues.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke was pleased with how Jonathan Lucroy (hand) looked during a batting practice session in the cage Saturday.
"He swung really well," said Roenicke, who did the pitching to Lucroy. "He looked like just before he was hurt. He looked really good." Roenicke said Lucroy "isn't too far off" from a rehab assignment. Barring a setback, it sounds like he could return before the end of the month.

Jonathan Lucroy (hand) could be cleared for hitting before the end of the week.
Lucroy is scheduled to undergo an X-ray this week to determine whether the fracture in his right hand has healed. He would then have to rogress from a tee to soft toss to regular batting practice before beginning a minor league rehab assignment. The 26-year-old backstop has set an early goal of returning by July 20, but that's obviously subject to change.

Jonathan Lucroy (hand) caught a bullpen session Saturday.
"Just to be able to go out and get on the field at least and contribute somewhat is actually really nice," Lucroy said after the workout. "I haven't really been able to contribute to the team at all. Catching bullpens, that helps the team out and it definitely helps me out too." He had the cast removed from his fractured hand on June 20 and should be back in the bigs soon after the All-Star break.

During an appearance on 1250 WSSP in Milwaukee, Jonathan Lucroy confirmed that he will undergo surgery Thursday to repair a fracture in his right hand.
Lucroy suffered a boxer's fracture of the fifth metacarpal in his right hand as a result of a freak accident in his hotel room earlier this week. It was previously reported that the injury would heal on its own, but he'll actually have a pin inserted to hold two segments of the bone together. Either way, he's still expected to miss four to six weeks.

Brewers placed C Jonathan Lucroy on the 15-day disabled list with a boxer's fracture of the right hand.
Terrible news for the Brewers, who haven't had any luck with the injury bug this season. Lucroy is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks, which means he'll be out of commission until late June or early July. Martin Maldonado will be called up from Triple-A Nashville to replace him on the active roster while George Kottaras figures to get most of the playing time behind the plate.
