Cannon (4-10) took the loss Wednesday against the Yankees, surrendering five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out six over 4.1 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Cannon entered in the first inning after opener Fraser Ellard walked the bases loaded, and he managed to escape the jam quickly by striking out Paul Goldschmidt. However, the right-hander quickly unraveled, giving up back-to-back multi-run frames that included a three-run homer to Aaron Judge in the second. The long ball marked the seventh Cannon has allowed in his last five starts, a brutal stretch in which he's posted a 13.50 ERA across 18.2 innings while giving up at least five runs in every outing and taking three losses. The 25-year-old now owns a 5.87 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 84:38 K:BB across 102.2 innings this season.

The White Sox recalled Cannon from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Cannon takes the 26-man roster spot of Wikelman Gonzalez after he was placed on the 15-day IL with a right elbow impingement. Cannon has appeared in 20 games for Chicago this season and made 17 starts, posting a 5.67 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 78:37 K:BB across 98.1 innings.

EDGE Analysis

Cannon allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two over 2.1 innings versus the Twins on Thursday. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Cannon pitched out of the bullpen, following 1.1 scoreless innings from opener Fraser Ellard. Cannon's struggles mostly came in the fourth inning, but the White Sox were ultimately able to overcome them and went on to win 11-8. The right-hander's 2025 had some promising moments in the first half, but he's now allowed 25 runs (24 earned) over 21.1 innings across his last five appearances. This outing may not have been enough to give him another turn through the rotation. Overall, Cannon has a 4.22 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 78:37 K:BB through 98.1 innings across 20 appearances (17 starts).

The White Sox recalled Cannon from Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Cannon is scheduled to serve as the bulk reliever in Thursday's game against the Twins. The right-hander has made 17 starts and two relief appearances for Chicago this season, posting a 5.34 ERA and 76:35 K:BB over 96 innings.

The White Sox will recall Cannon from Triple-A Charlotte to pitch in bulk relief during Thursday's game against the Twins, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cannon owns a 5.34 ERA and 1.46 WHIP through 96 innings in the majors, but he's set to make his return to Chicago and follow opener Fraser Ellard on Thursday. Cannon will get to face a Twins offense that sports a .696 OPS since the beginning of August, but he shouldn't be viewed as a reliable fantasy option after giving up at least five earned runs in each of his last three big-league outings.

The White Sox optioned Cannon to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Cannon had yielded six or more runs in three consecutive starts, and he'll lose his spot on the active roster as a result. The poor stretch of play came out of nowhere for Cannon, as he had allowed six total runs in his previous four outings before the rough stretch. Wikelman Gonzalez was recalled from Charlotte in a corresponding move.

Cannon (4-9) allowed seven runs on four hits and three walks over 1.2 innings to take the loss against Seattle on Wednesday. He struck out three batters.
EDGE Analysis
Cannon fell behind quickly, giving up a two-run home run to Josh Naylor in the first inning. Things got even worse for the hurler in the second, as the Mariners put five more runs on the board, the final three of which came on a Julio Rodriguez three-run homer. The seven total runs Cannon allowed were his most so far this season, and he's now given up a total of 19 runs (18 earned) across 12 innings over his past three starts. The rough stretch has ballooned his season ERA from 4.18 to 5.34.

Cannon (4-8) yielded six runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings Tuesday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
All the damage against Cannon came in the first three innings, with four runs coming in the third on a pair of two-run homers by Kyle Schwarber and Brandon Marsh. Cannon did not let another baserunner reach scoring position after that ugly frame. He's been tagged with 12 runs (11 earned) in his last two outings, raising his season ERA from 4.18 to 4.77 in the process. Prior to these two starts, he was 2-0 with a 2.66 ERA in four appearances since his last loss June 2. Cannon is projected to take the mound in Seattle next week.

Cannon allowed six runs (five earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out nine batters over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against Tampa Bay on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
It was truly a mixed bag for Cannon in the outing -- he had pretty good control in throwing 58 of 90 pitches for strikes and missed plenty of bats, notching an impressive 18 whiffs and a season-high nine punchouts. However, the right-hander also tied a season-worst mark in allowing six runs, though one was unearned. Cannon also served up two homers after giving up just one long ball over his previous four outings combined. He had posted a 2.66 ERA across 20.1 frames during that four-game stretch, so Wednesday's performance was a step back despite the healthy punchout total. Cannon's next start is projected to be a home matchup against Philadelphia.
