Cannon (2-4) took the loss Wednesday against the Royals after allowing two runs on nine hits and no walks in 5.1 innings. He struck out one.
EDGE Analysis
Cannon certainly didn't overwhelm the opposition, as he tied season worsts with nine hits and one punchout, but he still managed to deliver his second consecutive quality start. While the right-hander has yielded a staggering 18 hits over his past two outings, that hasn't stopped him from throwing six innings of two-run ball in both appearances. Cannon hasn't lent a free pass in either of these starts. He'll still be tough to trust for fantasy purposes in his next scheduled start against the Reds at hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park, where he'll carry a 4.09 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 33:17 K:BB across 44 innings.

Cannon (2-3) allowed two runs on nine hits and struck out five without walking a batter over six innings to earn the win Friday over the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Cannon was back in a starting role after operating as a bulk reliever in his appearance versus the Athletics last Saturday. He wasn't dominant, but just two of the nine hits he allowed went for extra bases, and they were back-to-back doubles in the fourth inning that led to the Astros' first run. Cannon's two wins have come over his last two outings, and this was his first quality start of the season. He's pitched to a 4.26 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 32:17 K:BB across 38 innings over seven appearances. The 24-year-old is tentatively projected to have his next outing on the road in Kansas City.

Cannon (1-3) picked up the win Saturday against the Athletics, yielding three runs on six hits and two walks over 7.2 innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The Chicago right-hander looked sharp in this outing, working behind opener Tyler Gilbert, who fired a clean first inning. Cannon generated a respectable 14 whiffs out of 95 total pitches. The 24-year-old now sports a 4.50 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 27:17 K:BB across 32 innings. Given his success pitching behind an opener, it would not be surprising to see the White Sox use Cannon in the same role for his next appearance, which currently lines up to be against the Astros at home.

Cannon (0-3) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs on six hits and four walks over six innings at Boston. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old fired 90 pitches, generating a paltry five whiffs, in this early Patriots' Day outing. Walks continue to be a problem for Cannon, as he's issued at least two free passes in each of his five starts and sports a 5.6 BB/9. Outside of his strikeout rate (8.1 K/9), the Chicago right-hander has begun his season on a sour note, pitching to a 4.81 ERA and 1.56 WHIP across 24.1 innings. Despite the disappointing start, Cannon remains locked into a rotation spot and currently lines up to make his next turn against the Athletics on the road.

Cannon tossed 4.1 scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Athletics on Wednesday, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out four batters.
EDGE Analysis
Cannon gave up just three hits and wasn't egregiously wild -- he threw 52 of 88 pitches for strikes and issued a tolerable two walks -- but he nonetheless managed to last just 4.1 frames. In spite of the short outing, the right-hander made some positive strides by holding the A's scoreless after giving up nine runs over nine innings across his previous two starts. Cannon lowered his season ERA to 4.52, and he also has a 1.53 WHIP and 18:11 K:BB through 18.1 frames.

Cannon (0-2) took the loss Thursday against the Guardians, allowing six runs on seven hits and three walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
It was a tough outing for Cannon, who allowed a pair of two-run homers to Kyle Manzardo and Steven Kwan in the first and third innings. After blanking the Angels over five innings to start his season, Cannon has now allowed nine runs over nine innings in his last two outings. The 24-year-old right-hander will look to get back on track in his next start, currently scheduled for next week against the Athletics.

Cannon (0-1) took the loss against the Tigers on Friday, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts over 3.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Cannon surrendered a solo shot to Kerry Carpenter in the first inning and yielded two more runs in the third. He struggled to miss bats, recording just seven whiffs, and was pulled before completing the fourth inning after reaching 88 pitches. The 24-year-old owns a 3.12 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB through 8.2 innings this season and lines up to face the Guardians next week.

Cannon came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 1-0 loss to the Angels, giving up four hits and three walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The 24-year-old righty engaged in a pitchers' duel with Jose Soriano in each hurler's 2025 debut, but Cannon was lifted after 85 pitches (53 strikes) and had to watch Mike Clevinger give up the game's only run in the eighth inning. Cannon held his own as a rookie last year, but his fantasy ceiling is limited given his inability to miss bats consistently and his team context. He lines up to make his next start on the road next weekend in Detroit.

Cannon has allowed six earned runs across five innings in Cactus League action.
EDGE Analysis
Cannon has made two starts in the exhibition season, with his latest start coming Thursday when he allowed three home runs across three innings. The one positive is that Cannon has a 4:0 K:BB, and he is locked into a rotation spot to begin the regular season.

White Sox manager Will Venable said Wednesday that Cannon will open the season in the club's rotation, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The revelation doesn't come as a surprise, as Cannon made 21 starts (23 appearances in total) for the White Sox last season and was serviceable, collecting a 4.49 ERA and 91:40 K:BB over 124.1 innings. Cannon might even start Opening Day, although Martin Perez and Davis Martin -- who Venable also named to the rotation Wednesday -- could be candidates, as well. The 24-year-old Cannon is not a desirable fantasy target.
