Moscot was scratched from his scheduled start Wednesday with an intercostal strain, Zach Buchanan of Cincinnati.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Moscot strained the muscle while swinging on the side during batting practice. The Reds insist that this is a minor injury and that the scratch was merely precautionary, which is a good sign going forward for the young pitcher and for the Reds, whose pitching staff has become fairly thin over the past week. A timetable for his return hasn't been set, but he is still expected to be ready for Opening Day.

Moscot is among the candidates vying for a place in the Reds' rotation this spring, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Reds have three vacancies in the rotation until Homer Bailey and John Lamb are ready to return from injury, leaving Moscot in a large-field battle for at least a temporary opportunity to start games. Moscot's 2015 season ended in mid-June when he had shoulder surgery, but held his own in nine Triple-A starts last season (3.15 ERA, 1.28 WHIP) before getting touched up in three turns for the Reds (4.63 ERA, 1.37 WHIP). Even he begins the year in the rotation, it's hardly a lock that Moscot will be able to keep the role throughout the season.

Moscot was activated from the 60-day disabled list, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This move puts Moscot back onto the Reds' 40-man roster. Barring any setbacks, the 24-year-old could compete for a spot in the Reds' rotation, although it's more likely that he'll start 2016 with Triple-A Louisville.

Moscot (shoulder) was moved to the 60-day DL on Sunday.
This transaction was expected to happen at some point with Moscot due to undergo season-ending surgery on his left (non-throwing) shoulder. The Reds activated Jason Bourgeois (shoulder) from the 60-day DL in a corresponding move.

Moscot (shoulder) had surgery that will likely be season-ending, but he's expected to be fine for the start of 2016, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Moscot dislocated his non-throwing shoulder during Monday's game against the Tigers, forcing him out of the contest in the first inning. Reds manager Bryan Price didn't entirely rule out the possibility of a return this season, but he did acknowledge that it's unlikely. Although the 23-year-old Moscot isn't one of the Reds' better prospects, he may have a shot to compete for a rotation spot next spring.

Moscot (arm) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.
Although Moscot's shoulder injury occurred to his non-pitching arm Monday, he won't be able to avoid a stint on the DL. As a result, the Reds recalled right-handers Donovan Hand and Carlos Contreras in a corresponding move Tuesday.

Moscot suffered a dislocated left shoulder Monday, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
He recorded just two outs in his start against the Tigers, injuring himself on a tag during a run-down. Fortunately, the injury is to his non-throwing arm, so it's possible that the 23-year-old rookie avoids the DL.

Moscot was pulled from Monday's start against the Tigers after appearing to hurt his right arm while trying to apply a tag during a rundown, MLB.com's Jason Beck reports.
It's a tough-luck freak injury for Moscot, who was holding the arm in pain as he exited the field just two outs into the game. The Reds called upon Pedro Villarreal out of the bullpen to eat some innings, but Moscot's departure will likely force the team to call up another pitcher Tuesday if for no other reason than to give the relief corps an extra arm. The Reds will assess the severity of Moscot's injury and determine if he'll be able to make his next start.

Moscot allowed just two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two in six innings against the Phillies on Wednesday to earn his first career win.
After an uninspiring start against the Padres last week, Moscot looked in control Wednesday, silencing the Phillies' offense for the majority of the afternoon. The extent of the damage against Moscot came on pair of hits from catcher Cameron Rupp. It appears the right-hander will remain in the Reds' rotation at least until Raisel Iglesias (oblique) is cleared to return.

Moscot allowed four runs on four hits, walking three and striking out three over five innings of a 6-2 loss to San Diego on Friday night.
Moscot (0-1, 7.20 ERA) was a late replacement for Raisel Iglesias who was put on the disabled list earlier today. While he pitched well in spring training and caught the attention of the Reds' coaches, he is not a top tier prospect and is unlikely to be a fantasy factor even if he remains with the big club over the short term.
