Gray didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Rockies, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gray spent the first seven seasons of his career in Colorado but will now hit free agency without a draft pick penalty attached after the Rockies elected not to extend a one-year, $18.4 million offer to him. The 30-year-old recorded a 4.59 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 149 innings across 29 starts in 2021.

Gray pitched four innings against Arizona on Friday, surrendering seven runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out seven. He did not factor in the decision.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran began the contest with a pair of scoreless innings before falling apart in the third. In that frame, Arizona swatted three homers and put up seven runs to take a 7-0 lead. Colorado came back to pull off the victory, however, and Gray was let off the hook. The seven runs were the most the veteran has given up in a single game this season, as were the trio of long balls. Assuming Gray doesn't take the mound again this weekend, he'll finish the campaign with an 8-12 record to go along with a 4.59 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 157:58 K:BB across 149 innings.

Gray (8-11) allowed two runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts in four innings, taking the loss Sunday versus Washington.
EDGE Analysis
While he didn't get much help in the 3-0 loss, Gray's spotty control led to a lackluster short start. The right-hander threw 46 of 70 pitches for strikes in the contest. He's given up seven runs in 14 innings since returning from a forearm injury. Overall, the 29-year-old owns a 4.17 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 145:58 K:BB in 140.1 innings this year. He's projected for a difficult home start next weekend versus the homer-happy Giants.

Gray will start Sunday against the Nationals, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gray was originally set to start Tuesday at Coors Field against the Dodgers. He'll get a better draw now, as he'll fill the rotation slot of Ryan Feltner, who was optioned Saturday. In two starts since returning from the injured list, Gray has allowed five earned runs across 10 innings -- good for a 4.50 ERA -- while racking up 15 strikeouts as opposed to just three walks.

Gray (8-10) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings in a win over Atlanta on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Gray secured his first win since July 30 after limiting Atlanta to two runs over five innings. He got off to a bit of a rough start as Atlanta took an early 1-0 lead in the first off a Freddie Freeman single but would eventually get into a bit of a groove, as he got nine outs in a span of 10 batters. Atlanta got to him again in the fourth for another run on a double by Dansby Swanson and Gray's night eventually ended after five frames and 90 pitches. The 29-year-old hasn't logged a quality start since Aug. 4 but has strung together two solid efforts to open up September. Overall. Gray has a 4.16 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 140:56 K:BB over 136.1 innings and lines up to face the Nationals on the road his next time out.

Gray (forearm) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out eight in five-plus innings in a no-decision versus San Francisco on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander returned after a minimum stay on the injured list, and he was able to keep San Francisco in check for five innings before Brandon Crawford's game-tying blast in the sixth. All in all, it was a solid showing from Gray after his brief IL stint. He has a 4.18 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 133:54 K:BB through 131.1 innings this season. He'll look to improve on his 7-10 record next week in a tough road start in Atlanta.

The Rockies reinstated Gray (forearm) from the 10-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Giants in Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Gray wound up missing the minimum amount of time with right forearm tightness, an injury that cropped up during his Aug. 28 start against the Dodgers. The right-hander was able to assuage any concerns about his health during his recent throwing sessions, and given the brevity of his absence, Gray likely won't face any major restrictions in his return to the mound. That being said, a matchup versus one of the majors' top offenses at Coors Field is hardly an ideal setup for Gray to deliver value in DFS lineups or as a streamer in season-long leagues.

Rockies manager Bud Black said Gray (forearm) is expected to return from the 10-day injured list to start Wednesday's game against the Giants in Colorado, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gray was moved to the injured list Sept. 1 with right forearm tightness, but he looks like he'll end up missing the minimum amount of the time due to the injury. He checked out fine after completing a simulated game Saturday, and assuming he comes out of a bullpen session Monday without any further setbacks, he should be on track to reclaim his rotation spot by the middle of the week. Ryan Feltner, who made a spot start in Sunday's loss to Atlanta, will likely move to the bullpen to clear room in the rotation for Gray.

Gray (forearm) is expected to throw a simulated game Saturday, Danielle Allentuck of The Denver Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gray landed on the 10-day injured list with right forearm tightness Wednesday, but it's encouraging to see him face hitters shortly after his placement on the IL. The Rockies were initially hopeful that the righty would be able to make his next start after he sustained his injury Aug. 28, so he could be in line for a brief absence. However, a better idea of Gray's status will likely be revealed based on how his forearm responds after Saturday's throwing session.

The Rockies placed Gray on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with right forearm tightness, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
After exiting his start against the Dodgers over the weekend with the forearm issue, the Rockies were initially optimistic that Gray wouldn't miss a turn through the rotation. His ability to complete a bullpen session Tuesday without incident seemingly backed up that sentiment, but Gray's forearm was evidently still bothering him a day after the workout, prompting the Rockies to deactivate him. Chi Chi Gonzalez, who has made 16 starts this season before recently shifting to the bullpen, likely represents the top candidate to step in to make a spot start for Gray in Thursday's home game against Atlanta.
