John Lackey surrendered four earned runs in 6 1/3 innings as the Red Sox fell to the Yankees on Saturday. It was his worst outing since early June. Lackey didn't walk a batter and struck out seven, but he gave up 10 hits and was handed his seventh loss of the season. The right-hander will try to get back on the right track next week in Arlington, Texas. It'll be a tough test, and it's probably a start to avoid in standard leagues despite Lackey's overall success.

John Lackey allowed two runs and three hits in seven innings Friday as the Red Sox topped the A's 4-2. Jarrod Parker had the same exact line for the A's, but he was left with a no-decision after Sean Doolittle and Ryan Cook combined to give up two runs in the top of the eighth. Andrew Bailey and Koji Uehara finished up with scoreless frames for Boston. This makes five of his last six outings in which Lackey has pitched seven innings and given up two runs on the nose. In the other, he pitched eight innings and allowed one run.

John Lackey allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings in Sunday night's loss to the Angels. Lackey continued his recent streak of dominance, but was the victim of poor run support. Both of his runs came on solo shots to Mike Trout and Hank Conger. He gave up just one walk and finished with nine strikeouts. Lackey will take a 2.80 ERA into his next start Friday against the Athletics.

John Lackey allowed one run over eight innings as the Red Sox beat the Padres 4-1 on Tuesday. Lackey continues to roll, as he's allowed more than three runs in exactly one start since May 19. On Tuesday, he gave up six hits and a walk while striking out six, allowing only a solo homer to Jesus Guzman. The outing dropped his ERA to 2.81 in 14 starts. He'll look to keep the ball rolling when he takes on the Angels in Anaheim on Sunday.

John Lackey wasn't involved in the decision after allowing two runs in seven innings against the Tigers on Thursday. Lackey was in line for the win when the Red Sox took a 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth, but Andrew Bailey made that disappear. Despite turning in quality starts four of his last five times out, Lackey has just one win since May 24. Right now, he's 4-5 with a 3.03 ERA. In 2011, he managed to go 12-12 with a 6.41 ERA for Boston.

John Lackey allowed two runs over seven innings as the Red Sox beat the Orioles 5-4 on Saturday. The right-hander hadn't won a game since May 24 despite not allowing more than four runs in any start since. On Saturday, he allowed seven hits and a walk while striking out four. His 4-5 record isn't indicating of how well Lackey has been pitching this year. He'll try to even his record when he starts against the Tigers in Detroit next week.

John Lackey allowed three runs in six innings of work Wednesday and took the loss as the Red Sox fell to the Phillies. The bad news is that Lackey allowed three home runs in the outing; the good news is that the three solo blasts accounted for all the Phillies' runs off the right-hander on the night. He didn't have his best stuff, but Lackey still managed to keep his team in the game, and he's still got a 2.96 ERA through eight starts. He'll look to build on his solid numbers Tuesday against the Rangers.

John Lackey twirled a gem in Friday's victory over the Indians, allowing just one unearned run on two hits over seven innings. Lackey matched his season high with eight strikeouts while walking three. He's been extremely impressive through his first seven starts on the season, posting a 2.72 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 40/11 K/BB ratio over 39 2/3 innings. He'll look to carry the momentum over from this strong outing when he does battle against the Phillies in Philadelphia on Wednesday.
