John Lackey was charged with four runs over 6 1/3 innings Friday in a no-decision against the Yankees.
Facing the Yankees for the second straight start, Lackey actually left with the lead, but Craig Breslow went on to allow a game-tying two-run double to Robinson Cano. The veteran right-hander struck out three and walked none in the no-decision. He'll carry a 3.56 ERA into a start against the Orioles next week.

John Lackey yielded seven runs on eight hits over 5 2/3 innings in Saturday's win against the Yankees.
Much has been made recently about Lackey's (subpar) run support compared to Max Scherzer's (excellent) run support, so perhaps Boston hitters just wanted to be heard. Lackey wasn't sharp -- he struck out six, walked three and coughed up eight hits -- but he didn't have to be while becoming a material witness to the series of crimes the Red Sox committed against David Huff. The Red Sox scored 13 runs, as many as they had in Lackey's last six starts combined. Lackey won his first start since August 17 (also against the Yankees) and improved to 9-12 with a 3.48 ERA.

John Lackey gave up three earned runs in seven innings Monday as the Red Sox fell to the Tigers.
Lackey struck out five and issued only one walk, but the dangerous Detroit offense tagged him for seven hits and Boston's batters offered zero runs of support. Lackey will carry an 8-12 record, 3.22 ERA and 1.17 WHIP into his next scheduled start at Yankee Stadium.

John Lackey allowed three runs in 7 1/3 innings of a no-decision against the Orioles on Wednesday.
The start was pretty typical of Lackey this year, as he kept the Red Sox in the game without overwhelming the opposition. Lackey allowed seven hits, including two home runs, and a walk while striking out four. He'll have another tough assignment Monday against the Tigers.

John Lackey allowed two runs over eight innings and struck out six in Friday's 2-0 loss to the Dodgers.
The loss drops the Red Sox (75-55) into a tie with the Rays (73-53) atop the AL East (though Tampa Bay's .579 winning percentage is technically superior to Boston's .577). Lackey didn't walk a batter and allowed only three hits, but one of the latter was Hanley Ramirez' two-run homer in the fourth. That was one mistake too many pitching across from Ricky Nolasco, who combined with Kenley Jansen on a shutout.

John Lackey limited the Yankees to one run over 6 2/3 innings Saturday in Boston's 6-1 victory.
Lackey got a rousing standing ovation from the Fenway Park crowd when he was lifted with two outs in the seventh inning -- something that might have been unthinkable before the start of the 2013 season. He now owns a 3.22 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in 139 2/3 innings this year and will try to keep rolling next week at Dodger Stadium.

John Lackey surrendered four runs in seven innings in a loss Sunday against the Royals.
Lackey was not sharp, giving up seven hits and two walks while striking out five. He has allowed two runs or more in all seven starts since July 7, which has inflated Lackey's ERA from 2.81 to 3.32. Lackey (7-10) will look to turns things around next time out against the Bronx Bombers.

John Lackey surrendered three earned runs in seven innings but the Red Sox beat the Mariners on Wednesday.
The Red Sox didn't finish off the M's until the bottom of the 15th inning, when Stephen Drew hit a walkoff RBI ground-rule single. Lackey was not sharp, yielding eight hits and one walk. He's now been roughed up in three straight starts. We'll call it natural regression.

John Lackey was tagged for five runs over 6 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Orioles.
Lackey gave up nine hits, including three home runs. It was the most runs he had allowed in a start since May 14. The veteran right-hander still owns a fine 3.19 ERA for the year and has been a pleasant surprise for the Red Sox and fantasy owners alike. He'll attempt to bounce back next week against the Mariners at home.

Thursday's game between the Rays and Red Sox has been postponed due to rain.
The game will be made up on Monday. Scheduled starters Jeremy Hellickson and John Lackey will presumably just be pushed back a day.
