John Lackey allowed five runs in 4 1/3 innings as the Red Sox lost to the Rays on Tuesday.
The Rays did all their damage with a five-run fourth inning, but Lackey allowed nine hits and a walk in his 4 1/3 innings of work. His numbers aren't terrible -- he has a 4.05 ERA after Tuesday's game -- but he's still not the Lackey we remember. His next start will come Sunday against the Twins.

John Lackey will make his next start Tuesday against the Rays.
The Red Sox had the option to use Felix Doubront, but he won't start until Thursday. Lackey allowed five runs -- one earned -- over seven innings Thursday against the Twins and holds a 2.82 ERA and 24/7 K/BB ratio over 22 1/3 innings this season.

John Lackey took a loss for the Red Sox after allowing five runs -- one earned -- in seven innings on Thursday.
Lackey's own error set things up in the four-run sixth inning, so he has no one to blame but himself. Still, with the exception of the one frame, it was a really nice performance. He struck out eight, and the one walk he issued came in the sixth. 74 of his 102 pitches were strikes.

John Lackey allowed three runs in five innings in the Red Sox loss to the Rangers on Saturday.
Lackey wasn't sharp, allowing six hits and three walks in his five frames. It was only his second start since coming back from a biceps injury, but the opponent was a step up in weight class after beating the Astros in his last start. His next turn, Thursday against the Twins, should also be more favorable for the 34-year-old.

John Lackey held the Astros to one earned run over six innings Sunday in a 6-1 Red Sox victory.
It was Lackey's first time on a major league mound since he left his April 6 season debut with a biceps injury. The right-hander had an easy opponent in Houston but still looked sharp, striking out four batters and scattering five hits. Lackey will probably have a tougher time in his next scheduled outing against the Rangers.

Red Sox activated RHP John Lackey from the disabled list.
Lackey has been sidelined the last few weeks after leaving his season debut with a biceps injury. He's healthy now, though, and will start Sunday versus the Astros. He's expected to be on a pitch count but is worth streaming in deeper leagues.

The Red Sox have officially named John Lackey (biceps) their starter for Sunday's game against the Astros.
It's been assumed since Alfredo Aceves was sent down, but the Red Sox wanted to make sure Lackey didn't suffer any setbacks in his final bullpen session before the start. The right-hander will probably be on a pitch count, but he's not a bad streaming option against the Astros.

John Lackey (biceps) threw 50 pitches in a bullpen session Thursday with no issues.
Lackey struck out five over 3 2/3 scoreless innings in a rehab start Monday with Double-A Portland and appears on track to start Sunday against the Astros. He might not be ready to throw 100 pitches right away, but he's feeling good for the favorable matchup.

John Lackey (biceps) could be activated from the disabled list to start Sunday against the Astros.
Lackey struck out five over 3 2/3 scoreless innings Monday in his first rehab start with Double-A Portland. Assuming he can make it through a bullpen session later this week, he should be good to go. The veteran right-hander suffered a right biceps strain in his first start of the season.

John Lackey (biceps) struck out five over 3 2/3 scoreless innings in a rehab start for Double-A Portland on Monday.
Lackey yielded three hits and two walks, throwing 45 of his 67 pitches for strikes. The Red Sox haven't ruled out his next start coming with the big club, though a decision on that hasn't been made. If he is activated, he'll get the ball either on Saturday or Sunday against the Astros.
