John Lackey allowed two runs on six hits over eight innings in a win over the Rays on Tuesday.
Lackey turned in his second straight strong start after a couple of clunkers in the middle of the month. The right-hander issued one walk while striking out five in the outing. With the win, he moved to 4-2 with a 3.82 ERA through six starts. He'll try to keep it going Sunday against the Athletics.

John Lackey excelled against the Yankees on Wednesday, striking out 11 while allowing one run over eight innings.
Lackey was coming off a pair of six-run drubbings -- one of them coming at the hands of the Yankees -- but he was in command from the first tonight; only once in his eight innings did the Yankees have multiple batters reach. Lackey is now 3-2 with a 4.22 ERA. He'll get the Rays next.

John Lackey was hit hard for six runs over 5 1/3 innings in Friday's loss to the Orioles.
Lackey gave up 10 hits and four walks before exiting in the sixth inning. The 35-year-old has now given up six runs in back-to-back outings. He gave up six runs or more just once last year. While Lackey owns an ugly 5.25 ERA through four starts this year, he has at least struck out 23 batters in 24 innings. He'll attempt to turn the tide next week against the Yankees at home. Those in mixed leagues might want to sit out that matchup.

John Lackey was hammered in Saturday's loss to the Yankees, surrendering a career-high four home runs in 5 2/3 innings.
Brian McCann did the bulk of the damage with a pair of homers and three RBI, while Carlos Beltran and Alfonso Soriano also left the yard. The final tally against him was six runs on 10 hits, all of it coming via the long ball. He did at least strike out six, to provide some value in fantasy leagues to go with the disaster. He'll head into Friday's start against the Orioles with a 3.86 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 17/3 K/BB ratio.

John Lackey held the Rangers to an unearned run over seven innings to win Monday and move to 2-0.
Lackey looks to be up for matching or maybe even exceeding his 2013 performance, which is great news for the Red Sox. He has a 1.38 ERA and a 13/3 K/BB ratio in 13 innings to date.

John Lackey surrendered five runs and 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings Saturday in a loss to the Braves.
Not that Lackey was stellar, but both homers he gave up today were wind-aided and probably would have been outs under normal circumstances. He ended up striking out six and walking none. He'll carry an ugly 9.49 ERA into his final spring start, but he seems to be getting better.

John Lackey went five innings and allowed five runs Monday in a win over the Cardinals.
Lackey didn't start pitching in games until late, and he still seems to be easing into the exhibition season, even though the regular season is just two weeks away. It's nothing really unusual for him, though: he's often posted high spring ERAs. He's at 9.39 right now after two starts, but it's not much of a cause for concern.
